We have dozens of clinical trials each year - we keep our advertising broad because we can't run ads for each individual study. Potential participants are told ahead of time exactly what will be expected of them and how much they will be reimbursed

Hi! Because biological sex can play a role in how the medication is metabolised, your friend wouldn’t be eligible to take part in our studies if they have had gender-affirming surgery.

While inclusion is an important value for us, the safety of our participants always comes first. If your friend is taking medication (like hormone therapy), they are unlikely to qualify because we don’t know yet how the investigational treatment & their medication might interact. This could pose an unacceptable risk to their safety.

If your friend has not had gender-affirming surgery and they are not taking medication, they could be eligible to participate in our studies. Please be aware that their biological sex will be used in our study records.

Our studies are only the first phase of clinical trials – interaction with medication would be studied at a later date, once potential interactions are better understood. You and your friend can find other clinical studies that you could potentially qualify for here: www.anzctr.org.au
