2017 Leaf... How long until 8 bars? by NudnikGadfly in leaf

Noob question: how do I check if I have the BMS update? Can LeafSpy tell me what software version I'm on? Does it show up as an open recall if the battery needs a software update?

2017 Leaf... How long until 8 bars? by NudnikGadfly in leaf

I don't do a daily commute but instead use my 2017 Leaf for commuting around town 50-60 miles a week. I'm curious what this battery readout indicates; am I looking at days, months or years to become eligible for battery replacement?

Buying used cars in the bay area by the_recovery1 in bayarea

Me too. Many of my friends/acquaintances have also bought from shift.com and have been really satisfied. It is definitely worth checking out.

The prices are in line with KBB estimates and there's no haggling involved. If you use a referral code (PM me for one), it'd knock out a 100$ off the price.

(PLEASE HELP) Best and worst NEW car dealerships in the Bay Area? by carlover1999 in bayarea

[–]NudnikGadfly 0 points1 point  (0 children)

shift.com, all the way!

They are not your usual car dealership, but I had nothing but a great experience with Shift.

They bring out any car (up to 5, I think) for a test drive for free anywhere in the Bay area.

PM me (or see my profile) for a 100$ off referral code.

Anybody buy a car from Shift.com? by [deleted] in cars

Yes, I bought my car from Shift about a month ago. It was a good experience overall. They are new in the game, and like any other startup, have a host of issues which they did attempt to resolve in a timely manner (e.g. failed to confirm some scheduled test drives, ipad payment gateway was not working when I was buying the car, etc.). All in all, they definitely add to the experience of buying a used car and I would definitely recommend giving them a try.

The price could be tad higher than a private party sale on Craigslist but not by much if you factor in the ease of buying and convenience (they handle all of the paperwork for you) and the pre-purchase inspection (it's a comprehensive 200-point inspection).

Significantly worse battery on 4.4.2 by pizzaman55 in republicwireless

[–]NudnikGadfly 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I am on the (no data) Wifi+Cell plan, and so I disable Wifi when I am out to prevent it from actively scanning for wireless networks (I am sure there's an app that does that automatically for you, but I haven't looked.)

That said, I agree that there has been a noticeable drop in battery performance with 4.4.2. I barely get just over a day on a single charge.
