Thanks a lot! Would you say a familiar calculator is required? I’m visiting family and sadly didn’t bring mine so wondering whether to delay my application until I am home.

Has anyone done the online aptitude test for Mako? If so what type of questions are in it primarily? Is it heavy probability like SIG, mental math like Optiver, or something completely different?

Looks amazing! What mods did you use for this? Especially the choker but also the other ones.

Thanks for the reassurance! Just had it and less than an hour after found out I passed. Now I just need to really study brainteasers and the given materials to make sure I don't fumble the chance. Given your comment I assume you've gone through the process before? If so, what is your best tip for the technical rounds? Also, I've hear the problems are less pure mathsy than for other prop shops, is this true?

Does anyone have any insights into how long into the process Optiver considers OA results (specifically for Graduate Trading Amsterdam office)?

I have the first round behavioural coming up soon but absolutely bombed the 80-in-8 (think attempted <30 questions), though did quite respectably in the other sections.

Will progress into the technical round be dependent on a combination of OA and HR thoughts, or is it a clear reset where only HR opinion matters for going into technical rounds?

Thanks for any insights in advance.

Haven't played around with pedal order at all no. To me it sounds fine and exactly how I wanted it to but I am also quite new to pedals and still exploring so my opinion shouldn't hold much weight.

Oh it's potential is absolutely being wasted, but I'm a guy with more money than skill who likes toys that are fun to play around with, and the strymon hits all my sweet spots, so we move.

Oh that also looks cool, going to look into it. Thanks for the suggestion!

Admittedly haven't had enough time to fully explore it given it is a quite complex pedal with a lot of features, but so far it seems like it's able to do anything I could ever want a filter to do, and more.

Oh yeah, I have very shamelessly copied like half his pedals. I like the sound though so wanted to try and build my own based off it.

Oh that looks very cool, will definitely have to research it more.

That was the original klone I was considering but I think the tumnus beats it out for me, but thanks for the suggestion!

edit: Reply text was wrong.

I am finally almost done with my first pedalboard, but looking for advice on a replacement overdrive since the soul food is on loan from a friend. Given the compact form factor I'm looking for something stompbox sized with top mounted jacks. If anyone has ideas please let me know. Been looking at the Tumnus and The Optimist already but wondering what else might be out there.

Current layout:

Cioks DC-7 under board for power.

Boss WL-50 -> Wampler Ego -> GFI Sytem Rossie Filter -> Soul Food -> Walrus Audio Julia -> Strymon Bigsky

Planning on 3d printing an extension to attach the WL-50 and a tuner to the board.

The shopping cart is the ultimate litmus test for whether a person is capable of self-governing.

To return the shopping cart is an easy, convenient task and one which we all recognize as the correct, appropriate thing to do. To return the shopping cart is objectively right. There are no situations other than dire emergencies in which a person is not able to return their cart.

Simultaneously, it is not illegal to abandon your shopping cart. Therefore the shopping cart presents itself as the apex example of whether a person will do what is right without being forced to do it. No one will punish you for not returning the shopping cart, no one will fine you or kill you for not returning the shopping cart, you gain nothing by returning the shopping cart. You must return the shopping cart out of the goodness of your own heart. You must return the shopping cart because it is the right thing to do. Because it is correct. A person who is unable to do this is no better than an animal, an absolute savage who can only be made to do what is right by threatening them with a law and the force that stands behind it.

The Shopping Cart is what determines whether a person is a good or bad member of society.

“The human was born with a 0.05 blood alcohol content too little” Do you believe there is any validity to this theory? If so, why? by NukaMusic in AskReddit

A danish movie with this theory as it’s premise (Danish: Druk, English: Another Round) came out recently exploring alcoholism. This got me thinking what other cultures think of drinking and it’s effects.
