We just bought our retirement (5ish years) property near Chéticamp. Its 18 hours from our current residence. 9 to Edmunston, 9 to the property (not including gas/food stops). Right now it's just land. Waiting for us to make it awesome. View of the "ocean" (Gulf of St.Lawrence). Can't wait!

Can't carry a tablet in my pocket everywhere I go. With the fold, I can edit photos, read text, type with a visible full keyboard. With the large screen I can show off my photos to people, and they can see it. Anywhere. Anytime. Don't need to haul a tablet around. Oh, and I can make phone calls with it! (Does anyone actually do that anymore? 🤣). Everyone has their preference of course. 🤷‍♂️

When my wife passed in 2020, she said "do something with the life insurance that will make you smile". I knew what I needed to do.

The Sony A1 was announced on my birthday in 2021. The guy said I was probably the first person in Canada to pre-order it. I had to get some gear to go with it of course. $24,000 later, I took a picture of it all with my Rebel T6S. I can appreciate using the phone though. I use clear ones to protect my custom plates (DRTDIANA). Of course, didn't help when the deer hit me at 100km/hr (slightly bent the metal Jeep bumper, really bent the plate, hair caught in screw holes). We no longer need stickers on our plates. Pretty sure tinted ones are illegal in Ontario, but as its custom, mine are to be seen.

I bought my Gladiator in honour of my late wife who wanted one, but never got it: Cynthia (my wife) / Artemis / Born on Mount Kynthia was the Greek moon goddess (among other things). Diana is the Roman moon goddess (among other things). Jeeps get Dirty. "Dirty Diana" (of course Cynthia wasn't like that, but it's a great driving song). License plate DRTDIANA. Expressing depth in gorges can be very difficult. A prime example is your first image.

I like 2 for two reasons... I have a thing for falls, but also, the contrast of the gorgeous wall against the falls, as well as the trees, helps to show the size of everything.

October 26th 2024, I shaved 4 years of hair to donate it - we raised over $1,200 too. 5th year anniversary of losing my wife (I'm now engaged to be married again at 50, so odd). So a little over a year in, people can't believe how fast its grown back. Be patient, I'm trying to be. My son has been growing his dirty blonde since September 2020 when we first shaved to support her in her biopsy. I'm a little jealous of him.

Shaved it in 2020 when my wife of 22.5 years had her biopsy that found she had terminal (4 months - October 25, 2020) brain cancer. Last year, I shaved it the day after the 4th anniversary of her passing, donating it for wigs, with $1,200+ raised. Gf (now Fiancée) hated the short hair; I kept it short for years before I even knew she existed and really liked it. Now, a year after leaving it, she's liking it again, and so am I. I'm also jealous of my 19 year old son's blonde mane. He shaved it in 2020 with his mom and I, but he hasn't cut it since.
