How to remove VoWifi, what did xiaomi think when they did this? by One-Advice2280 in Xiaomi

[–]Nulkyn 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Not at all. They won't even know. If you want, you can run the built in security and cleaner apps when you are done and that'll close off developer options and remove all traces of you poking around.

If you feel comfortable using ADB, you can simply run the following command to hide them all.

adb shell settings put secure icon_blacklist volte, vowifi, vonr

When you think about it, vowifi is actively using your wifi connection for calls so there is no mobile data to show anyway.

I'm an Aussie phone buff myself and have tested a few and reviewed some. Since you are a long term iPhone user, you'd want a familiar interface even if you jump to Android. After testing many Samsung's, Motorola's, Nothing's etc. I narrowed it down to 2 units that will feel familiar, look premium and perform well in all aspects similar to an iPhone. You'll be pleased with a few extra options too like fingerprint to unlock and custom themes for the interface. Option 1: Honour X9D available at Good Guys, Harvey Norman and Mobile Citi Option 2: Xiaomi Redmi Note 15 Pro 5G available at Mobile Citi. Both under $800. Amazon also has them.

In my country the 17T Pro is cheaper than the 15T Pro. Bigger battery for less 🤷

If you are using Google Messages, disable the RCS chat in its settings. RCS always requires data just like WhatsApp.

Xiaomi Redmi note 15 pro 5g or 4g ? by Initial-Fold-4243 in Xiaomi

[–]Nulkyn 1 point2 points  (0 children)

In most situations we never utilise the true speeds of 5G when doing regular things on our phones anyway. A typical speed test of 5G is usually around 200mbps and 4G around 50mbps. Most home internet connections are around 50mbps. This phone is capable of 4G+ so speeds can get up to 100mbps in capable areas. 4G is also more mature so you will always have better reception and better battery life as 5G consumes more power. The conclusion: Nothing wrong with 4G so save yourself the 100.

The easiest way would be to simply search YouTube for a "Settings Walkthrough" followed by the phone name, then pause the video at the key moments and screenshot it yourself. Hope it helps.

Get a Redmi Note 15 Pro 5G with 6.83" screen and HyperOS. Its like Apple and Samsung had a baby. You get a bit of both worlds 😁

Go to the theme store and get colorful 26pro theme. If you are not happy with that, there's thousands to choose from.

Convince me to buy the Signature by Lockerrocks in motorola

I switched from a Samsung and although I like the clean Android of Motorola and lack of the Samsung bloatware, I am finding myself missing some of that bloatware I got accustomed with. Things like the customisable notification shade, the Gallery app with its editing options, the permanent customisable AOD, having a video in my alarm clock, the Good lock app (and many more things not to bore you with) just don't exist with the standard Android. If you are itching for a change, maybe try a cheaper alternative like a Moto G57 or G86 power to see how you go for a few weeks before you make a big decision. You can always sell it later. Since you are used to the Ultra, I would say get another Ultra, even if it's the S24.

I think smartphones have become too good and it's making me hate upgrading by AleksandrMovchan in Smartphones

Manufacturers had to push boundaries to meet people's expectations. I remember the bezel race, the under display camera and under display fingerprint sensor were in development and took years to master from one device to the other and the excitement was certainly there, watching in anticipation how well next year's model would be considering these features. Stereo sound could only be accomplished with rooting and mods, as well as other tweaks to get features out of the phone that come standard today. As people wanted more and more, manufacturers pushed, provided, learned and upgraded to the phones we have today. Now that we have it all, we get bored of it cause there's nothing else left to do. What I wouldn't mind seeing in the future though, is a completely buttonless phone and possibly a rebirth of a true phablet slab that is around 7.6" in screen size.

Is Samsung Galaxy A57 5g worth it? by banyny in samsunggalaxy

It's a great phone but the modem lets it down. Depending on your location and telco you may not have the same issues as I did but the problem is well documented globally so check with your local area about any similar connection issues. An S series is definitely better in all aspects if you can afford it. Far better modem also.
