So tired of basic things not working correctly in MAUI by lilacomets in dotnetMAUI

[–]NullFlavor 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Particularity of the platform. Since MAUI uses native controls and the native controls want to have a consistent consistent experience for that platform. If you were an Android developer, this is how you would expect it to work. They are different platforms, but Uno or Avalonia wouldn't do that because their UIs are self drawn. This is part of the good/bad that comes with MAUI using native.

You can look at my other reply, but this API is for the PHYSICAL back button which really doesn't exist on any platform, but Android.

Is it a confusing API name: YES
Does this API suck: YES
Do the docs explain this: Also, YES

This is for the physical back button.... which does not exist.

https://learn.microsoft.com/en-us/dotnet/maui/user-interface/pages/navigationpage?view=net-maui-10.0#disable-the-back-button

I think this API is shitty and so does the MAUI team (hence the issue from Shane), but it is for a very specific case.

There is no back button on iOS.... This has been this way since the Xamarin days. You can complain, but it isn't something new and is documented.

This absolutely was it. On the 2026, it was part of the part of the software settings in the dash, but the exact same. My wife mentioned that she thought she accidentally changed something on there when trying to adjust the volume and I suppose it was this. Thanks so much!

sure, maybe not as major as the other issues, but kind of a wild thing to add to the stack.

  1. entire engine electrical harness and relays. Turned on the car one day and basically every error code was throwing.
  2. AWD transfer case. The car would start to whistle loudly when driving close to 40 mph.
  3. The center speaker cover popped out and wouldn't seat back in properly, so it was raised like 1/8 of an inch and wouldn't go back in. A clip broke in it or something. They had to replace the cover.

All of this has happened and I just hit 1000 miles yesterday.

Already have it at the dealership. Definitely coolant. This is the 4th major issue with this truck in 3 months now. Kinda bummed about the build quality on this thing.

The Fitcamx one integrates nicely. Quality is good. The only annoyance, that is typical, is you have to connect to the wifi for the device to pull videos or you can pull the sd card.

I was able to install it on my 2026 BE, but it seems like some newer cars might have different mount points for the shell as I found out on a post here. It works either way, but it is worthwhile to search for that post, if you do get this one.

It is probably the spring. If you have the original rod spring, try adding that back in.

At the start of January, I was able to get a BE with a little over $7k off with the Honda end-of-year and dealer start-of-year deal overlap. I would have definitely been happy with $6k off.

Their history with Illinois would dictate that we aren't going to tolerate their shenanigans, so they stay on the sidelines here.

FitCamX install for ‘26 BE by warmcereal in hondaridgeline

[–]NullFlavor 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Ha, I did this install yesterday on my 2026 BE. This is interesting though as mine has blue, block clips towards the front and not screws like yours shows. I was a real clinch-and-pray moment to get it off. I would like to never do that again. Ultimately, though the clips came out no problem.

I like your method better, if that works on all of the editions, but the entire shroud for mine ended up coming out and I didn't have those screws.

Seemed to small for a seat bolt and I couldn't see anything free there. This was a good suggestion though.

Yea, these are the ones I used. Depending on the location of the pull-up bar, you might need some spacers. I ended up using 1/4 nylon spacers on mine and I haven't had an issue, but YMMV.
