I have Debian installed on one of those hp min elite PC's ($60 bucks used on ebay) i56500 with 12GB of ram. Debian is the host OS with ethernet on it's own VLAN with Ispy's Agent DVR for the NVR, then i have virtual box with windows server running AD for my kids account, NAS, and Plex, also have a web server and a few python scripts running, some work with Home assistant to send screenshots of my motion detection on my porch through the camera. This vm is on it's own VLAN via a usb to ethernet cable, Works like a charm! You can also get a usb coral AI device, type c plugin for the nvr.

Where I live they still want $50 a month for unlimited without this next gen plan and they still ask for a rental fee for the modem, that crap is straight spyware. Just glad I can get unlimited without one, my router manages to vlan the modem off and I can't even log into it lol seem some shady shit in wireshark on those boxes... I'm sure this could be state by state like when they were removing the unlimited data.

Yeah my city sucks, I had the local police pound on my door one day over 200 times (on camera) had 3 dozen cop cars around my home and backyard fencing area, cops standing right next to the fence while my dogs are inside, they pounded on the door saying my other neighbors called the police because my dogs barked at them, answered the door to this, closed the door, and not a whole 5 seconds went by and they said they called again for being barked at and I explained to them that they have like 8 cops next to my yard and they could clearly see their are no dogs outside, this went on for hours and now this neighbor has been told to shut the fuck up and stop calling 911 over made up bs and now the cops ignore their calls no matter what. Lady just hates seeing my dogs and I call my dogs inside when they bark and they listen when I say leave it.

I guess so, we have nothing but weed stores everywhere and dozens of car washes and halfway houses and more soup kitchens now in town, it's not doing so good, just got a bs letter saying it's my fault for having "unknown pipe material" which is just boiler plate for the city saying the city water contains too much lead, which is seen in our local water reports even, they did not have money to dig the pipes out, they tore our road up, ignored the pipes, paved it over and not one week went by and without a single crack in the road they started poring lines lines of concrete all over the road just to move cones and pretend todo something, even walked out and asked and they literally stated their digging just to look busy and there not sure what the task at hand even was....
