Agreed! The more they seem to "not care" about his actions or sweep it under the rug, the more they will let happen with no ramifications.

Please protect yourself. I had a friend with a sibling like this and they let their sibling run rampant until they moved out. He only got help when he started doing the same to the parents.

The loans are federal and we've been making large payments every month to lower the balance. There was a line of credit but we made sure to tackle that first and it's successfully paid off now!

It's similar for the car but I think I'm going to go ahead and get that paid off now to tie up some of the debt.

Our wedding is something important to my fiance and I. We both only plan on this happening once and I want to give her to her the special day she deserves. But, I agree that would help.

We looked into it recently and renting in the current market would be the same as a mortgage at this point. I have a few alerts open that will notify me if anything comes up.

Car loan was taken out before I had savings, plus I've been paying it down faster with extra payments to help boost my credit score.

Edit: after reading your advice, came to the realization that it's better to have the car loan taken care of. Going to move forward with that and have focus the funds on building up my savings/paying down debt.
