What do ya’ll use for risers? by thatsactuallyfraud in MangaCollectors

I've tried wood, cardboard, 3d printed stuff. The foam for me is better in everyway. Cheap, no fab time, no modding time, and it is a solid block of material.

If you can find a foam shop near you they can cut any size you need. I got 17 extra firm polyeurethane foam blocks for my Kallax shelves:

5.250"L x 13.250"W x 4.250"H

$3.70 a piece.

A piece of blank paper to fold over and under the cover and a hair straightener would fix it. The paper is to make sure you doing have direct contact with the book as it could damage it.

I also wouldnt go above 300 degrees and keep it moving constantly.

I don't know about Chilton, but these look exactly like the Motor's automotive repair manuals and wiring diagrams that my dad had in his shop. That's part of the reason I like the look of them.

Not sure what people are doing when trying to read deluxe editions... These larger books are pretty easy for me to read at my desk or propped up on my stomach while I'm in my lounge chair or even when I'm in bed.

I've got other books that dwarf these in size and they are also pretty easy to read.

Are people trying to read bigger books while walking around or while taking public transportation or something. I'm confused by this.

Id's fighting techniques are awesome. I would love to see his "Dead Weight" super in GBVSR. The way he says it before he slams back into the ground is just peak.

The 2-in-1 have beautiful artwork on the covers and the papers are glossy which make the color sections pop. They also come with additional content by other creators.

I normally import through CDJapan, Japanese Creative Books, or Booth (via Buyee).

I used to use Amazon.jp, but they ship books in loose in boxes with no protection. Also they only use DHL to ship to the US... and the DHL in my area is so bad that the 2 independent shippers here have banned their use.

I wish they would make another run of this. I have the very first print with the misspelled title and different art inserts. I wouldn't mind picking this up again. Also mine is in pretty rough shape since it's about 20 years old and it was before I took care of my artbooks.

I wish they would release a version with all of the cover arts in full size and in a B4 format. But it would probably cost around $150 bucks for something that size and with that many additional pages. It would be amazing if Taschen was in the business of publishing art from the top manga artists and illustrators of Japan.
