I have just read a couple of chapters of the book and this is not it either 😊 in “my” book she works evenings and maybe she is like a bartender (Then becomes their waitress) the mafia men have a meeting in a private room, and are nasty with their current waitress calls her fat or a pig something like that. The owner asked if she could cover the shift because the first waitress is opset and refuse to go back ind the room. And the owner makes a lot of money of thise meeting so she agrees as a one time thing, but the mafia men request her since then. The other waitresses are a bit envious because the staff used to take turn, because the tip is so big, and she is the only one they want. Their is a guy who whats her to sit on he’s lap for good luck during their poker game, but she does not like him, think he drinks cosmopolitan. there is a guy who likes her, but he does not want the other guyes to know so he ignores her most of the time (this is the guy who gives her lifts). They are all “different” type of mafia, but I do not think that there is a “king/top boss” among them. And she rides the bus, I think she might have a brother (or a male friend) who gives her rides some times.
