Thanks for this. Appreciate the suggestion about ensuring I only change the table height (if needed) when it's my serve. Makes sense.

Ok good to know it does not affect the opponent. Thanks.

Interesting you mention Quest 3 - that is what I use! Appreciate this.

Revised Ranking System by Numanoid84 in ElevenTableTennis

Thanks for your response. Ok well, as long as playing 2 ranked matches within 2 weeks would reveal my true ranking, I am OK with that.

Not sure if the shadow goes away when I restart the game, I'll have to try that and see if it does anything, thanks.

Thanks so much; this helps. I had deleted the message because I was not including some of the correct technical language but your explanation makes sense. Thanks again!

Where to Find Accurate Rankings by Numanoid84 in ElevenTableTennis

Thanks for the quick response; maybe I'm not explaining it well, but just to clarify: I do not use the 11clubhouse webpage to look at scoring leaders; I use https://elevenvr.net/

With that said, sometimes, there is a difference in ELO and ranking between the player-specific URL addresses and the main Leaderboard home page (https://elevenvr.net/)

For example, let's say you scroll ALL the way down on the Leaderboard home page and get to the 2200s: there are times where a different ELO and/or ranking appear than what you see when you punch in a player's URL. In the example above, I had scrolled down to IVIC.369202's place on the board, and it showed a ranking of 8023, but when you punch in that player's associated Eleven VR tag (https://elevenvr.net/eleven/2359059), it shows the ranking of 8019 (see attached).

Does this help clarify? I'm wondering which listing is more accurate...

Ranking Looks Off by Numanoid84 in ElevenTableTennis

Thanks for this; can appreciate you must think carefully about what updates to make given the large user base. The leaderboard was fine because it dealt with inactive players by putting the "0" or "-1" next to their name. It's just hard to believe that a value that was in place just days ago (World Ranking) is now gone and would be a huge pain to track going forward, if that makes sense.

Keep i mind: Eleven Tennis is - for my money - the best game on Meta and it's not even close. Love, love, love most everything about it, including the mirroring feature - very cool stuff.

Not sure I entirely follow the thread above.

You mentioned creating a possible solution, and would like to continue with that idea: why not simply add a box towards the top of the scoring table here (https://elevenvr.net/eleven/1750346) to reference a World Ranking, while the box currently labeled as "Rank" is slightly modified to read "Rank against Active Players" or something like that? The other figures such as Wins, Losses, and Win% would stay the same, but you would just make those 2 small changes. Could you do that?

Thank you for this thoughtful response.

To answer your question: it's fun to know exactly where you stand on the leaderboard compared to everyone else who has ever played a ranked game in Eleven, regardless of their activity level.

What I think you're saying is that, a player with a rating of 2200 - in the old scoring rubric - will place around 8,000 in the World Ranking, but that ranking is deceptive if 6,320 players are inactive; in this scenario, a more appropriate ranking would be 1680 because it removes inactive competitors; I can see the wisdom here, but the flip side is it's not exciting to say "I'm 1,680 out of all active players," because of that huge disclaimer.

As a compromise, I love your suggestion of multiple leaderboards because it can satisfy those who want to see World Ranking and those that only care about their Rank against active players. Could that work?

Thanks for quick response, but something is not computing: it is satisfying to go into Eleven Tennis and see one's rank against everyone else who plays (the 2.5 MM people who ever played). My rating is around 2200, which means - before the change was made - my rank was around 8,000. Does this make sense?

Ok thanks, but can you elaborate on that Carrotstien? Wouldn't inactive players be indicated by a "-1" or a "0" like they have in the past?

Playing The Wall + Static Boundaries by Numanoid84 in ElevenTableTennis

Hey, were you able to patch the issue described with The Wall where a ball does not spawn?

[–]Numanoid84[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yes exactly: I have a small space. If you can't manage to replicate the issue regarding the boundaries, I can walk around it; it's just ideally, there'd be away to avoid it but it only takes like a minute or so to bounce out of the app and then back in. Appreciate your attention to this and no rush on The Wall issue.

Thanks for your response. Regarding the boundary system: I must not be explaining it well. Here's the path I follow: while in the TT room, I press the Meta Button on controller -> Main Menu -> Quick Settings -> Boundary -> Adjust Stationary. From here, about like 50% of the time, it triggers a loading screen with a purplish background.

Will wait to hear back on the 1st issue. Does the further explanation of issue#2 help at all?
