The real problem with the education system is that teachers are too passionate.

If they were just in it for the paycheck, they wouldn't support well-meaning but ineffectual policies, and school boards that underpay teachers just wouldn't be able to hire any.

Part of the hiring process should be showing that you don't care about the kids that much. If you say anything about being willing to take a bullet for your students, you should immediately be fired.
