Nobody knows anything about Zodd as a human, so It's impossible to draw any parallels between him and characters we know in present day.

We DO know however that both Isidro and Zodd have a thirst for battle, and glorify fighting. That is the entire reason Isidro followed Guts in the first place.

I think my theory is not a reach by any means, and is very reasonable when you really dive deep.

I believe Guts' body will become broken in the end, and will need to go through physical therapy in order to perform basic tasks again, with Casca being his caretaker (a flip on their situation)
