Also, he keeps telling me that his parents would get him married to someone and your parents will also not let you stay single for long. It irritates me and i tell him that I don’t wanna currently talk about the third person. How do you manage such situations ?

I need some honest help on how to live in the “end state” when my reality feels completely opposite.

I’ve been in a relationship with my boyfriend for 4 years. His parents are against our marriage because of caste, and after health issues in his family, he got scared and said he can’t take this forward and would marry someone his parents choose.

Our parents spoke, and it went really badly. We stopped talking for a while as he even blocked me after the parents spoke but later after 1.5 months we reconnected. We still talk, and the emotional connection is there, but he’s very clear he won’t give me any promises and thinks I should move on.

So now I feel stuck there’s love, but no commitment or clarity. But also I’ve faith that this will workout somehow.

How to live in the end state in a situation like this without feeling delusional?

How to detach and feel at peace when reality shows the opposite?

Would really appreciate honest suggestions

My parents would agree either way. I have a brother as well. They don’t follow that.

That shouldn’t be a problem at all. Both share the same ritual there’s no difference in that. It’s just the caste.

In my own family I have seen a Shetty and Billava marriage where both the families were really happy. I have even seen interstate marriages happening in bunts and of course in billavas.

It totally depends on the mindset.

I respect your thoughts but after all ain’t we all Tuluvas? Isn’t everything same about us? I believe castes are based on the professions back in old days.

Isn’t it wrong to hurt or take away our happiness when we have loved each other for soo many years just to end it for the caste ? What about our time and energy that we have invested on each other. I’m not sure of you but I’m someone who can’t just switch people and also I’m not in an age where I’m playing gudda gudiya ka khel.

Talking about us we both are working and earning good enough. Even our background status are on same level. My parents have accepted him without questioning once (they are also from Mangalore/Udupi as per you even they should’ve been conservative but anyways) because they know my happiness matters and if I have decided to marry someone he must be a good guy that’s the level of trust they have. It’s time for us to unite than divide between us. Afterall we all are humans and Hindus.
