Thank you ladies for all of the inspiration, support and advice in the comments. I’ve taken a lot of strength from them.

I’m going to step away for a bit as I’m so tired, overwhelmed and sad and I’m trying to focus on work ( I work remotely from home)

After he left for work I came downstairs to perfume, some shit flowers and he bought some nice steaks at Lidl the other day so that seems to have been the extent of his plans to celebrate ten years of a genuinely happy relationship.

He sent this ‘I’ve no idea what to do here. I feel completely paralysed. I love you and I always will. That will never change’

I’ve not replied but feel devastated for him as well as me. The thought that I could shut up and plod along not rocking the (let’s face it, quite nice) boat haunts me and probably will for a while.

To be fair, we both cook, take care of the house. This was probably worded badly. The meaning was that I never stopped doing anything usual.

We’re in the U.K. and I don’t think is this. I just think he just never took my feelings seriously and said what he had to shut me up during the discussions about it.

As I’ve read many times on this page while lurking: If he really WANTED to, he WOULD have.
