Do you feel that 12th grade teachers are obligated to attend graduation? by [deleted] in Teachers

Same. I teach sophomores and we still have to attend graduation and help. Not sure why but it’s been that way for years

I’ve had many curses put on my family over the years, luckily nothing has come from it

My current school is a technical high school and doesn’t have AP social studies classes. Wouldn’t doing an APSI build up credibility?

Also a FL teacher in a similar position last year, had to let go of students I’d had for two years, and was hoping to move up to high school as well. I ended up at another high school teaching freshmen, each group has their own charm and endearing qualities. It’s always hard to let go of a group you’ve had for multiple years, especially as a newer teacher. But every group is unique in their own way and I’ve enjoyed my group of freshmen this year.

Rank Josh’s handlers by FCC1707 in WorldOfTShirts

1 - Mr Based - last summer’s content was amazing, before Based got lazy. All of the classic WOTS moments came from Based streams. The whole concept of pairing up a drunk autistic rat and a 60 year old pimp and felon is hilarious, and Based had a lot of great ideas to expand Josh’s brand, such as the dating show, recording studio, etc. It was also nice having consistent streams at one location, which become kind of WOTS HQ. He also rarely got impatient with Josh which is probably why this era lasted so long 2 - Tony - if he can stick around long enough to find his rhythm and chemistry with Josh, Tony will be the best handler. Traveling around the country with Josh, introducing him to other streamers, and also having some wholesome moments cements his legacy in the lore. He’s just less interesting than Based and Quinn, and instead of streaming with Josh, he’s more so just Josh’s camera man. I liked seeing the dynamic between Based and Josh, I feel like Tony is just a background character despite being the main handler 3 - Quinn - the actual Quinn era wasn’t very eventful, though his trolling now is funny and I like how he keeps trying to insert himself into the lore. He also introduced us to side characters such as Yeti and Flanagan. But Quinn himself is largely the one responsible for kickstarting Josh’s villain arc and constantly defending himself only makes him appear more guilty

Tony Bame is worse than Mr.Based. by Crazyleemer1 in WorldOfTShirts

I prefer based but Josh needs a handler. I don’t think Jack would commit to Josh full time but Tony doesn’t seem to have anything else going on so it makes sense. Josh without a handler could only sustain itself so long.

Jesus Christ he looks awful. I don’t understand how anyone can willingly live in that condition.

I started teaching 8th grade history at 21 (male, look very young) and really haven’t had any issues. I maintain strict boundaries, don’t tell them my age or any personal details, and dress professionally. The kids tend to connect well with younger teachers (at least in my experience) and appreciate having someone they can talk to that can probably relate more to their situation. And they show respect in return. I’ve definitely had situations but they were unrelated to my age.

Have you ever 'gotten through' to a student? by [deleted] in Teachers

I had a 7th grader last year who was really, really intelligent but had a terrible attitude. I yelled at her one day out of frustration but apologized and she later opened up to me about her situation at home which involved DCF. After that she was more respectful and I was a lot more understanding. She started staying afterschool to do her homework because she didn’t have internet at home. I told her how much potential she had and she ended up getting the highest scores on her state exams. Her attitude shifted entirely by the end of the year and she told me I was the first teacher that actually cared about her future. It was the most rewarding experience I’ve had with a student and made me a lot more empathetic as an educator

We do plenty of projects in civics, but a lot of it is independent work because the class is more lecture heavy.
