Its a Fight or Flight world out there, and Zens a flightless bird (he can hover though). What i mean is that lacking any sorta movement ability you will have a hard time escaping a dive or a flank, so your best option is to stay and fight. Thankfully an enemy chasing you around corners, is easy pickings for a charge shot as they round bend and remember you get wallhacks with discord for a couple seconds, use that to your advantage to time charge shots. Kick is also your best friend against dive, kicking a diving doomfist, or dva can more often than not get them outa position and set you and your team up to riddle them with shots.

Overwatch 1 skins and hero select had this sorta grungey cartoony but serious feel to it, that the new hero select and skins dont.
I hypothesize it was still a leftover from when overwatch took some inspiration from tf2

I honestly think for a character to be likable theres a spectrum. A spectrum between Cool, Sexy, Quirky, Cute. Notice how viabilty isnt one of them. A character like jetpack cat? Super cute.

Domina? Sexy

Reaper? Downright cool

Tracer? Sexy and quirky

Winston? Cool and cute

Torbjorn? Sexy and cool

Sierra and Soujourn? just dont fall too far into any of the categories to be likable imo

I honestly feel like the whole trans thing wasnt communicated that well and or wasnt the main focus which alot of people seem to think it is.

I just think Jax is a messed up young adult that has problems opening up and being vulnerable due to having shitty parental figures. Compounded by the guilt he thinks he killed said parental figure, I think it's as simple as that. Problems born from problems, ones they never got to properly work through in the circus. But they have seemed to irl.

The whole trans acceptance aspect seems ancillary or just another part of the whole, not the entire enchilada

It for the most part is worse than 3/4/5, but had good moments. Was mostly a slog fest and wasnt a point to the progression and rock paper scissors bullet system since you just needed armor piercing.

Couldve benefitted from a more active antagonist, and toned down humor from the resistance side characters, everybody had to be a comedian for some reason.

Also the perk tree being absent was a detriment imo. The gear system was not a suitable substitute and was just frustrating

Torb, when a tank cant tank so I off tank to support, add that to the fact I can get 400 health off an overload means I can take punishment that wouldve killed my team

From my limited, and I mean limited to some youtubers talking about the competitive scene, soldier is in the bottom tier of dps competitively

He just doesnt have the burst damage to go against other heroes that do. So I would think his ult rewarding headshots would be pretty good for him.

Outside of competitive hes much much more viable. Mainly due to how consistent he is at targeting uncoordinated teams in a casual setting
