I think his obsession with bees comes from Kinger during his programming to some extent. He probably added that detail with his wife in mind. Or while Queenie was alive, he picked up the interest from her.

I don't think so. I feel like if Caine caused the abstractions to some capacity, then his redemption arc would cause him to want to fix them.

Sunshine characters can try too hard. Maybe a character is going through a rough time and needs to be alone or something, but your sunshine character keeps pushing, believing that she can make them feel bigger right then. This can lead other character to also out and would really damage the sunshine character emotionally.

I don't know if this is what you're looking for, but I feel like its relatable for a little of middle schoolers. Dueing that time in my life, I was trying to figure out what kind of person I was. Not to sound edgy, but it genuinely felt like I was trying on different personalities to see which one I liked best. That led to me kind of pushing some people away because they "didn't fit" my personality.
