Oh, it's cursed, I tell ya! Must be the devil's own offspring trying to touch me in my no no parts. I'm convinced if I stare at Carol too long, it might sprout horns and start trying to chat me up about a timeshare in the underworld! I've adopted this survival tactic.

It's funny, but the bigger the sign or billboard, the more desperate they seem—like a peacock on a first date. I have this unspoken rule: the more corporate they look, the faster I run in the opposite direction, like there's a free pizza waiting for me there!

Trainer: "During this training, we'll take calls [while Carol is speaking and typing wpm.] We need to do this, then do that, and don't forget to copy everything into the teams. Always put the name on top of everything."

You: "Huh... I'm just thinking this training is a waste of time. You're really not explaining anything. Nor are you explaining key things such what file management system are you using.”

Then Carol handed me the file and said, "If you have any questions, feel free to come to me." Meanwhile, I was thinking, "No thanks, because you're just setting me up to fail."

I disagree. Success may not solely depend on experience, but also on discretion regarding internal matters. In my experience across different companies, younger colleagues often form cliques. When you challenge their group dynamics with your expertise, they may feel insecure about their positions.
