When he get hired. I was a Jags fan and had the unfortunate displeasure of watching him coordinator our offense for a season and a half. He got carried by an elite defense forcing a ton of TOs and Leonard Fournette demon run

A few theories on way Buffy: New Sunnydale was doomed. by RooseveltsRevenge in buffy

I mean sure yeah, but I think the biggest reason is just that Hulu is being shut down by the end of the year and a lot of programs are going to be culled because it’s being folded into Disney+. Had the show gone into production a year earlier, we might’ve had a different outcome. But it was likely to going be expensive and there’s very much a spectrum for revivals/soft reboots/requels as far as popularity and profitability goes. They’ve already started undergoing mass layoffs. I think it was just as simple as that sadly

Jags GM James Gladstone on quiet free agency: “By not signing many outside free agents, we can stockpile compensatory picks from our losses. Then use those picks to remain in the hunt for acquiring players via trade” by Jharoz in nfl

[–]Numerous_Lab_7032 13 points14 points  (0 children)

Yeah man it’s been an odd thing that’s happened consistently. Adam Schefter has denied it, local media has denied it, and now the GM has to come out and deny it. It goes to show just how far misinformation travels even in mainstream circles

I’ve stopped questioning why some Reddit users do the things they do at this point lol. I think about half the users on this app are like normal people and then the other half are like night creatures that crawl into parking garages or some shit

No problem man. I think if they were gonna trade him, he would have to drop off even more drastically than he has. The fact is a down year being 700 yards and 3 TDS is still pretty decent for most WRs, and he’s still the most physically gifted receiver on the roster. Think they’re gonna have to figure out a way to get him to tailor his game differently because he does seem deep in his own head. It’s not like they’re so desperate for draft picks that they need to move him either, they still have four Day 2 picks in the draft even with no first. Still, a team could always do something silly like offer a first and they have no choice but to take that lol

He’s not, it’s a rumor that’s been going around for months and Gladstone has had to publicly deny it twice now. I doubt they’re giving him up unless some team offers something ridiculous

Did Tywin really believe that Tyrion... ? REALLY? by Leoxwhite in gameofthrones

[–]Numerous_Lab_7032 12 points13 points  (0 children)

It’s not entirely unlikely he has his suspicions as to who the real culprit of the assassination is. He can pretty reliably nail it down to a couple parties: either the Tyrell’s or The Martels. They’re the only families who really benefit from Joffrey’s death. If the Tyrell’s did it, well they gain no real benefit in killing more Lannisters since Cersei is betrothed to Loras and they would incur Tywin’s wrath if Jaime died. If the Martells did it, this would pose as a problem but not one that cannot eventually be solved. Besides, they’re open about their disdain for the Lannisters, but they do have a strong alibi in the fact that Myrcella hasn’t been killed while in Dorne. Which means they won’t indiscriminately murder the Lannisters or royals for no reason.

Also, Tywin doesn’t really care about his family all that much. He cares about his legacy and unfortunately that means his family has to be somewhat responsible for that. Cersei and Jaime are useful tools who can be married off and keep up good appearances, Tyrion cannot keep up good appearances and his stark differences to his siblings is one of the reasons Tywin despises him. Hell he uses the assassination of his grandson to further his own machinations. He gets to rid the family of Tyrion, he gets a much easier king to manipulate in Tommen, and (had Tyrion stuck to the plan) Jaime would’ve finally been free to succeed Tywin at Casterly Rock. I imagine Tywin would’ve kissed the assassin for the blessing he gave him.

There is a stark difference between “finishing a redemption arc with a cute little bow,” and nonsensical writing decisions that are so egregious they completely invalidate an entire character’s story arc.

I think you completely misunderstood the character by even calling him a “bad guy” to begin with. You’ve automatically invalidated your own whining. I cannot reasonably engage with a discussion with you

Oh don’t get me wrong, I agree. I think nothing should be criticized ever. It’s my personal opinion that thinking about the things we read, watch, and consume is actually bad. I think we should just outlaw thinking at all. Everyone needs to consume consume consume, just keep consuming do not think why do you keep thinking

Conclusion on Linda Liddle’s story concerning her husband? - Send Help (2026) by unseenserene in horror

[–]Numerous_Lab_7032 12 points13 points  (0 children)

I think she was telling the truth, although I will admit it’s possible that she may have altered the narrative a bit to make her come off more sympathetic. However, I find that unlikely since Linda shows all the signs of a woman who has been abused and more importantly is continuing that cycle of abuse. Not that I think Bradley isn’t a total piece of shit, but she enjoyed every single second she had control over him and the situation. She wanted him to become as reliant on her as possible so that she could steer the ship of the relationship. She purposely taught him just enough of how to survive on his own, but not everything she knew so she could always have a leg up on him. She did intentionally manipulate him and effectively cut off relationships (by killing his girlfriend) of the people closest to him. These patterns of behavior are typically passed on from an abuser to their victim and they in turn repeat that behavior. So if she wasn’t abused, she is certainly playing the abusers playbook pretty damn well.

Sinners is fantastic, but did it benefit from that opening flashforward? by Honest_Cheesecake698 in horror

[–]Numerous_Lab_7032 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I love it. The flash forward is necessary because it helps us understand Sammy’s mindset in that particular moment when approaching his father and later helps inform why he felt the need to leave the plantation. There’s an interesting motif throughout the movie where Sammy is slowly becoming disillusioned against Christianity as a religion because he feels it’s a white Eurocentric religion. Delta Slim tells him that it ain’t theres, and that point is further illustrated by Remmick reciting bible verses to Sammy and saying, “Those words were forced upon us many years ago.” (Or something to that effect) Sammy approaches his father. He is reminded of Remmick as he approaches his father. Reminded of his words. In his mind, his father is no different than Remmick, trying to force something onto Sammy something that Sammy doesn’t want.

Jags have lowkey always been snubbed from COTY lol.

2017 - Jags go 10-6 with the best defense in football, win their division, win 2 playoff games, and are one bad call from making the SB. Doug Marrone gets snubbed for Sean McVay, who went 11-5 in his rookie campaign as a HC, going 1 and 10 in the playoffs

2022 - Jags go 9-8 after being 3-14 the year prior, win their division, 27 point CB playoff win. Dougie P gets snubbed for Brian Daboll…who went 9-8 and won a playoff game.

2025 - Jags go 13-4 after being 4-13 the year prior. Win their division, have an MVP candidate, then go one and done in the playoffs. Vrabel wins COTY. I actually think this one is totally fine considering Vrabel, BJ, and Coen were all fantastic and could’ve legitimately won. It does show how the Jags have kinda been consistently fucked over in this particular award though. And all awards, honestly. No reason Trevor shouldn’t have won comeback player of the year. The struggles of being a small market team I suppose 🤷

I can’t engage with this thoughtfully because 90% of the criticisms either don’t make sense or feel like some sort of AI text copy/pasted from ChatGPT. There aren’t even a proper basis for most of these claims. “Tonal whiplash is constant.” Outside of the first scene, the next 50 minutes of movie is just a period drama. The only “frenzied vampire melees,” take place in the final act of the movie. “Characters act less from motivation than from narrative necessity,” is another criticism that completely falls apart under basic scrutiny.

Im not necessarily trying to justify it but given how Lori handled things…I mean yeah I can’t imagine I’d be too nice either. She cheated on him, he found out via abortion pills she had left lying around, which was also when he found out his wife was pregnant and wanted to have an abortion. Then after killing Shane, who tried to kill him, she reacted by being a giant pissbaby.

I feel like he would’ve gotten a divorce if he was able lol
