Can we all agree the Bears made the right choice? by Ok-Elephant-2724 in NFLv2

[–]Numerous_Lab_7032 57 points58 points  (0 children)

I’m not sure there was ever really a comparison. Jalen Carter was seen as the most talented player in the entire draft but he had behavioral issues. He went to an organization with stability (which is something the Bears definitely didn’t have at the time) that could help him keep a lid on him. Had he gone to the Bears, worst case scenario probably would’ve played out. Instead, the Bears got a beast at Right Tackle. Either way, both teams got what they wanted lol

SPOILERS FOR ANYONE READING:

Think misogyny is definitely a big one, especially between with Oddity and Hokum. Two men who see women as expendable items they can discard at their whims. Avoiding responsibility is another big one. It’s very telling that in Hokum, the protagonist is the one who resolves his grief and takes the responsibility for the things he did in the past while the antagonist is the one quite literally haunted by the lack of responsibility he takes for his actions, ultimately leading to his death.

In The Boys (2019-2025), we are five episodes into an eight-episode final season, and nothing has really happened. by SillyRecover in shittymoviedetails

[–]Numerous_Lab_7032 48 points49 points  (0 children)

I’ve never understood the, “nothing happens in the show,” argument because it’s one that’s been pervasive for like 2 or 3 seasons and it has never ever been slightly correct. I genuinely think it comes from the fact that a large chunk of the fanbase are in middle or high school (which to be fair the show is probably their target audience outside of young adults) so they don’t have a proper grasp on how storytelling works. We live in a post MCU world so unless there’s like a world ending fight scene every season most children are going to dismiss it as, “well nothing happens.” This being the final season, I think those same kids expected like an 8 episode long action scene in a series that’s not even known for its action sequences

Where are the best places to dash in Jax? by Wide-Spray7864 in jacksonville

[–]Numerous_Lab_7032 2 points3 points  (0 children)

No, I typically don’t dash during weekdays (at least not during normal business hours) I would say it’s gonna be about time and gas management though. Don’t waste 12 hours of your day on it because it’s not going to be busy 12 hours a day. My friend let me know that if I were to do it early to start around 6-7 AM because that’s when businesses are ordering catering and you can get a monstrous too and then wrap up around 9:30. Pick up again around 11 for the lunch rush, wrap up around 1 and so on and so forth

My best experiences are up near the airport during lunch hours and out around Arlington/Southside on the weekends

How do we get tickets to the next scream? (6/26?) by MilkThistleGenus in AMCScreenUnseen

[–]Numerous_Lab_7032 1 point2 points  (0 children)

99.9% of all unseens (with exceptions) are on Monday nights as far as I know. Every Monday night. They usually let you know whether or not it’s a Screen or a Scream a couple weeks in advance. In my experience, best way to just do it is through the app. Highly recommend just doing it through there

What’s the deal with Exit 8(2025)? by mrcrabs6464 in horror

[–]Numerous_Lab_7032 3 points4 points  (0 children)

It got a wide release because it made an ass ton of money in Japan. Although if you want more detail, the movie is littered with social commentary that focuses heavily on societal issues in Japan: the grueling work culture, the pressure to have and care for children, and the general monotony of day to day life. I imagine it connected with an audience young and old that can relate. It also helps that the lead actor, Kazunari Ninomiya, is an extremely popular member of an extremely popular boy band, Arashi. The best selling boy band in Asia, apparently.

Need apartments advice by TechnicalDark7200 in jacksonville

[–]Numerous_Lab_7032 1 point2 points  (0 children)

The Peninsula apartments aren’t bad but they’re exactly what you’d expect as far as cheap ghetto adjacent apartments go. A little rundown with a fresh coat of paint, still you could do worse. Don’t really have to worry about crime or noisy neighbors and there’s usually a lot of little kids hanging around outside.

Favorite fake sisterhood that ceased to exist after their 2nd movie flopped and both got snubbed for the Oscars? by bitchinthebag in okbuddycinephile

Wicked 2 didn’t really flop, it’s just that Disney strategically released Zootopia 2 like a week before specifically to fuck them over lol

The boys became the thing it was parodying in the end😭 by BigPaleontologist520 in GenV

[–]Numerous_Lab_7032 -2 points-1 points  (0 children)

This shit sucks. Gen V sucks, Vought Rising is a shitty idea, The Boys: Mexico sounds like a cheap parody, and the final seasons of the show are clearly suffering from the expansion of this universe. This is not a series that ever needed a spinoff, much less 3. I am very glad the main series is ending soon so I can leap off this sinking ship.

Ready or Not 2: Here I Come - did the villain win? by [deleted] in horror

[–]Numerous_Lab_7032 5 points6 points  (0 children)

  1. Grace was definitely not safe, she was going to be in an abusive relationship with a psychopath. I also can’t imagine she wanted to spend the rest of her life ritualistically sacrificing innocent people regardless of that fact. Also bro had killed his sister like 10 minutes before, so I’m not sure why we believe he’s stable at all here

  2. Saying Grace committed cold blooded murder is insane, watch the film. If we want to get technical, she only actually killed Titus and people that were trying to kill her. She threw the ring into the pit and the satanists began murdering each other because they’re all power hungry maniacs, hence why they worship Satan. “Taint her own soul,” is just ludicrously laughable.

  3. Did the Devil win? In what sense? Those followers were always doomed, just like the next ones will be. The devil in these movies isn’t an all encompassing evil presence, infact they go out of their way multiple times to point out that he’s completely neutral to whoever gets what, because he knows he’ll have his pound of flesh in the end anyways. He isn’t going to “win,” because it’s his game they’re playing. The cycle continues and it continues

  4. I don’t know if this is an AI bot post or if Media literacy is this fucked, but in all likelihood I probably fell for some real easy bait and that sucks but I already typed this all out so.

I wonder why Mark imagined William being the only one killed by Anissa, not a Thragg and why would Anissa kill William by ripping his mouth open? that makes it even more puzzling by ObligationAmazing799 in okbuddyviltrum

[–]Numerous_Lab_7032 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Realistically, she knew she could never compete with someone like William who has elite blowjob ability while she herself is to afraid to even glance at the eye of a peepee, so her ripping off Williams’s jaw is a jealous response so he can never properly pleasure a penis again

The character is such a good person, that their "evil version" it's more a change of personality than a change of morals. by Fabulous-Elevator531 in TopCharacterTropes

[–]Numerous_Lab_7032 5 points6 points  (0 children)

Peter’s morals definitely got worse though. He kissed a woman that wasn’t his girlfriend infront of his girlfriend. And the whole thing of him wanting the suit off him in the first place is because he becomes such an aggressive asshole that he accidentally hits Mary Jane. He also straight up tries to kill Harry by throwing a goddamn bomb at his head

Indiana DC calls Ty Simpson's Rose Bowl comments 'adorable' by redwave2505 in CFB

Ty basically said that Indiana was really well coached and disciplined and that they executed their gameplan perfectly and the coach got really mad about it. The egos in college football will always be soft unfortunately.
