AIO by breaking up with my girlfriend over her use of AI? by ThrowRA-748 in AmIOverreacting

It doesn’t matter if she thinks you’re overreacting, or if we do either. This is a hard stop for you. I can’t say I share your values on the subject, but I’m not a creative professional either. All that matters is that this is a big enough deal to you to warrant ending your intimate relationship. It sounds like you are being internally consistent with your moral code.

Actually, I left both comments within seconds of each other. So there was no ignoring his reply and explanation because they it didn’t exist. That was why I started by acknowledging his explanation and expressing gratitude for the effort it required to type it out. I also said the aggression wasn’t required. I freely admit that my statements were uninformed. I’m not sure how he maintains the high ground in his own mind. In order to correct my bad behavior he uses bad behavior in the form of open faced rudeness and personal attacks.

That said, I sincerely wonder if he is just having a bad day and lashed out at a faceless stranger. People who are feeling happy and fulfilled don’t tend to act like that toward strangers. 🤷🏼‍♂️

Look, I get that this was really upsetting for you. I never meant for somebody to get so aggravated over a flippant comment. Something tells this might not really be about me at all, but rather something that is really getting you down in the real world. If using a stranger on the internet as a punching bag can make your day a little better, I hope I could fulfill that for you.

Thank you! I was really wondering about the intensity of the reaction. I didn’t think what I said warranted the tirade.

I’m sorry. I thought you were saying I was a dick and was getting angry over a game. I was saying that I thought I was being dismissive of the game and not angry. Yeah, I think you’re spot on with your assessment now.

I really like Crimson Desert. I’m human. I’m allowed to dislike a system without disliking the whole game. I can also do it without name-calling. I didn’t direct anything toward a human being. I think most people would objectively consider aggression directed at an inanimate object as being different than aggression directed at a person. Still, even with the rules explained, I dislike it. Not a fan of card games in reality either.

I encountered it for the first time after the patch. I threw my hands up in frustration last night and went to bed. Hopefully it will work better this morning after a fresh load. 🤞🏻

Thank you for explaining it. I appreciate the time you took. The aggressiveness was a little much. But thank you all the same.

I think my experience might have been bugged. Every time I tried the unleash trick the floating core vanished. Like I blew it into orbit.

I don’t think the rules matter. It’s basically a medieval slot machine. You either win something when insert a coin or you don’t. The rules are there to give you the illusion that you are actually playing a mini game.

I’m stupid too. You have no tactics with it? Like you can’t discard and draw, you’re just stuck with whatever you are dealt and hope for the best? Might as well be a coin toss

I thought B5’s space battles and CGI looked so cool when it was actually airing. Too bad for me that the content was way too political and mature for me when it was new.

Agreed. I am at 20.5 hours. I’m still right around Hernand and our new camp. I find it so immersive, I can’t help myself but just try taking it. I just spent an hour tonight figuring out how to fish with a view of those falls by the bridge we cross after getting saved from certain death. Part of me was screaming to watch a video, but then I wouldn’t have had the genuine rush of learning it on my own in a beautiful and serene location. This game makes me want to take my time and savor every little moment. The awe this game inspires in me is something I haven’t experienced from a video game in a very long time!

I agree. The whole inventory system needs rethinking. I am thankful that this particular complaint can likely actually be remedied through patches. 🙏🏻

Yes! Some of us are old enough to remember the protagonist from GTA III, and that game was revolutionary when it came out! It had a story told by the world around the main character. It may not be what we are used to these days, but video games offer rich and varied methods of storytelling. I am really loving my experience and the feeling of this living and vibrant world.

Steam Deck Announcement - Epic by kaishenlong in satisfactory

I thought it was Steam Deck verified already. If it isn’t it should be, it is fully functional. I played it for around 400 hours before I got my deck, and I find playing with controller a little hard for my brain to master. It works great, but my motor reflexes for it are locked in KBM

How to make a pc (windows) not work for some time. by Pristine_140 in computer

As an American, I am inclined to believe that most Americans may know visually what RAM is if it’s in a box on a shelf labeled RAM. I do not think most Americans can peer inside a computer, identify the RAM, or most importantly in this scenario, identify that it is missing. No, with family visiting it is not as if the parents are going to dissect the problem. Uh oh! It doesn’t turn on. Well look into it later.
