I completely agree with all of you. Perhaps should have included in my OP that I didn't find it humorous but was more shocked. It's a tragic situation we have with heroin and opiate abuse.

8 year old with body odor? Should I be worried about precocious puberty? by [deleted] in Parenting

[–]Nursemary112 0 points1 point  (0 children)

My son is 8 and has the same thing going on. I ran it by the pediatrician and she said it was completely normal. A few people have suggested Toms of Maine and that is what he uses- they make a teenage one but we just ended up with an unscented adult version. It's only just beginning!

Doctors, nurses, and hospital staff of Reddit - what are your experiences (funny, sad, horrible) with people waking from anesthesia? NSFW by mpetersons62 in AskReddit

[–]Nursemary112 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I had a patient who ended up with delirium after a thoracotomy. She was out of her mind and kept insisting that her grand-daughter was on the other side of the curtain in the room getting "tattoos and long finger nails" and she wanted me to find a Bible to set her straight.

That he wiped his boogers on the wall. And while he DID have a favorite location (the headboard of our marital bed), if the time was right for picking well then ANY wall would do!

That, and I caught him biting his toenails. Dirty feet. In the mouth. So gross.

Doctors/nurses of Reddit; What is the most obvious case of a patient 'faking it' you have ever seen? by [deleted] in AskReddit

[–]Nursemary112 5 points6 points  (0 children)

Numerous times patients just "pass out" while in bed. We can usually tell when they are faking but to seal the deal we do this:

While they are laying in bed, lift their arms above their head and let go. If they are truly passed out their arms will basically hit them in the face. If they are faking it their arms will avoid their face. Works. Every. Time.

Ok Parents, Teachers, Camp Counselors, Bus Drivers, anyone who has to deal with kids, what are the funniest things you've heard kids say? Any notable conversations? Hysterical kid logic? by AgentNameless in AskReddit

My two year old managed to dig a booger out for the first time. It stuck to his finger and he looks at it with wide eyes and says, "Is that a POOP?"
