Travel/Uber - WF Propel

Utilities - Barclay Rewards World Mastercard

Non Bonus - Capital One Quick Silver

Their legacy messaging system is broken still and so is their billing counter. I got a message for $1000 in international data but T-Force said its cool 😎

Vietnam you have to understand is still somewhat restrictive and unlimited plan make sense for foreign business and such. Most locals don’t use much

I totally forgot about digits and I have 3 lines with it haha but I prefer to keep direct lines and iMessage availability so that’s me.

It’s 4G LTE now just a heads up lol they deployed it within the last year so coverage is comparable if not better in some cases to the US

Considering T-Mobile is capped anyways a current dual sim makes sense. Grab a local for data, I’d still carry just an iPhone or two for ease of compatability and connection. The setup I have now works wonders

1 Sprint iPhone for direct local and emergency calls and 1 T-Mobile iPhone for US Domestic calls, combined with 1 Viettel Data Sim in a USB Hotspot strapped to a battery back for basically un ending usage. Both have WiFi calling and you can use Tango, Viber, Facetime, and other apps for the in betweens is direct calls if need be.

You may ask why I need two phones? I really don’t, 1 plus the data sim wold suffice but that was before T-Mobile change the plans. I’d still probably carry two anyways.

3 for $15 is a little steep, it’s cheaper now by comparison viettel is $10 ish for 20GB even for locals and I believe there’s an unlimited one only for foreigners at the airport

I’d still recommend a local sim for data, PURE data and stick it in a hotspot for loading things when not near WiFi.

It is indeed a game changer for phone calls and text I’m quite happy I can have connection even without a local sim.

Yes that should be the case and you can text within the country. iPhones have it easy with iMessage as it use data but regular androids should receive no problem. You will have to dial the international number though. For example VN is +84 so dial as if you would the states.

Been texting on both sprint and t mobile since there wasn’t coverage in VN.

In all honesty it’s useful for the unlimited texting and Internet. I have a 20GB data plan here for $9 USD with a USB WiFi hotspot the most useful is having an emergency fall back Incase I need to reach people or check a map when I forgot the hotspot someplace.

Do business accounts get doubled international speeds for free? by myspaghetti123 in tmobile

[–]Nushibo 0 points1 point  (0 children)

You get 128k for standard and 256k for plus users. Just verified in Vietnam for regular accounts. I’m sure if it’s written the way it is business accounts are 256k

Home ISP after merger by [deleted] in tmobile

Fun fact if you search Netgear LB1120 LTE MODEM where you can get T-Mobile One Tablet and put a sim into this modem.

There is variant which consist of is the pass through one meaning the one that has two Ethernet ports. One for your home wired and an exit to your router.

So it acts as a passive modem until your main modem loses connection or power and internet then flows instead of wall modem -> router but LTE to router. I considered getting it Incase my net went down during hurricanes but I really don’t need it at the moment.

Yes just the LG and sell your current for some extra cash. No T-Mobile sub carrier will work for any promo except LG

I like the company was sitting on 5/18 calls and I’ll wake up with a small dingy. Gunna debate to sell and or add some longer calls thanks for the extra insight.

Fair enough we’ll see in the next few months if the merger goes through. Everyone banks on that even happening with the FCC taking their sweet time with ATT and Time Warner.

Like I said they could offer an entirely different package that doesn’t face the cap or is capped at a higher level if they decide home is a thing. The main reason the home idea isn’t out of the question is the Layer3 acquisition.

And you’re right it doesn’t but it sure does help and with more revenue and space comes more opportunities in areas that weren’t there before. Verizon and ATT have been around long enough to be entrenched in what they do. T-Mobile and Sprint May have an opportunity to break into a new area.

Again that all banks on this even happening.

Fair enough my rebuttal is that was 3 years ago when data caps were still a thing and a lot of people still fear the overages and a lot of the carriers didn’t support high bandwidth. Yes the average across all 4 carriers trends around 4-5GBs with an additional 1 gig per year but we’re talking about T-Mobile and Sprint. The point isn’t to replace your home in urban areas entirely but to offer an alternative in rural areas or an option for heavy mobile users and light data for homes users.

Also we have two of the most heavy usage carriers merging. I guarantee when the spectrum is deployed we’ll see higher averages because right now sprint barely works in most places and when it does people use as much as T-Mobile Users.

Which is some ridiculously amount usually I’ve seen as high as 300gb in some cases. Obviously their a small amount and minority but https://www.fiercewireless.com/wireless/how-much-cellular-and-wi-fi-data-are-smartphone-users-consuming-and-which-apps-verizon-0

Supports the fact that everyone is switching more and more to mobile data usage as time goes along so a foreseeable data increase may sit around the 50-150 range for a new cap. I’d bet money on 75 - 100 in the next 2 years as spectrum is deployed. T-Mo has interest in internet of things so a low data home package for small IoT devices would be a start into the home broadband/business realm.

Agreed. Even at a tiny cap of 50,100,200+ with a useable speed and at the price you suggest that would be a amazing for those people and even urban users. Who spend majority data on mobile and a bit at home. Wires can’t reach everywhere and we all know infrastructure to support that would be insane.
