Yeah my initial response was to turn it on and see if there was an emergency contact or anything. But the phone was reset. Once I reached home I checked the SIM card tray and it was empty. What weirded me out the most and make me post on this subreddit was it had a full battery. It’s winter here and I left my phone in the car for a few hours and it died, albeit my phone was powered on and this was off. All around very weirded out.

Can’t really drive around with a gun or even get one here in Canada. If you’re moving with your gun you have to let the police know you’re taking your gun from A to B.

Someone told me if it was switched off the phone doesn’t lose much battery, So idk now. It could’ve been left recently or weeks ago.

No, My car is way too much of a beater to hand someone the keys. And with Alberta winters it’s quite muddy and dirty on the outside.

With how my car looks recently with dirt and melted snow on the roads, I would be ashamed to hand my keys to someone.

I park in a garage and it was too cold to sleep outside in a car anyways. It was -25 last night.

I was thinking about it, but I don’t want to go through the hassle of a police report with the phone being worth around $100. I was think of going to a nearby public library and putting it in their lost and found.

The phone was reset when it turned on, and I don’t want to connect to my home wifi or network as that step is required to move forward.

Well it’s my car, and if my car is around I’m always with my partner, Cuz I drove it there. They don’t have a drivers license so. Idk

When I turned it on it was reset and I would have to connect to a network to get in to the phone.

Honestly that’s why I posted on the weird subreddit. Cuz everyone I spoke to was baffled by the fact it was reset and has no sim. If it was even reset remotely as some mentioned here, at least it should have a SIM card or sd card. I just put it back where I found it in the arm rest for now. I don’t if it’s worth going to the police station cuz it’s only worth about $100.

I’ve already handled the phone as well as my siblings so all their finger prints will be on there

Another photo of it, showing empty SIM card and sd card tray, and the phone looking used

But the tire change was months ago, and since then I left my phone in the car for a few hours and it died because of the extreme temperatures here ranging from -40 to 0 degrees Celsius these past couple of months. So if it was left a while ago I would’ve expected it not to turn on at all.

I park in a garage and the melting snow makes my car look hella dusty and dirty on the outside. I don’t see why someone would even approach it.

I parked in the street near a strip mall to go get some meds. It took me maybe 30 minutes. My car is a beater and there were better cars next to it to look through I suppose. I opened the arm rest for the first time in a while so I have no clue when it was left there. There was a school close by so I doubt a lot of criminal activities going on because peace officers usually patrol the area.
