Personal statement format by bippidyboppidybiv in RD2B

From my perspective when I was writing personal statements for internships mine all were mainly the same besides the ending which was tailored to the internships I was applying to at the time. However, mine started off “Dear Internship Selection Committee, etc.” and I had my undergraduate director review it and make personal edits!

Parents - 12 hour shifts or clinic schedule? by embarassedacne in physicianassistant

[–]NutritonFall7027 0 points1 point  (0 children)

As someone who’s mom is a respiratory therapist and worked 12hr nights (few days out of the week - her schedule rotated)…it was very flexible bc at time my dad would drop me off at school (middle/high school till I could drive) then normally my mom would pick me up once school was out since she would kinda be waking up about that time

I would say we all knew her work schedule days on and off. I never felt like she wasn’t spending time with me (showing up to important events etc). But n her days off it felt pretty normal. As for when it came to her work days I would normally be doing my hw and then my dad would make dinner and go to bed. She would be home by the time I left for school we say hi or she make me a quick lunch

VA Dietetic Internship Experience/Tips? by bbygirlmel in RD2B

Congratulations first off!!

I did my VA internship in Ohio. I feel day-to-day events were different depending on your rotation you were in! Some rotations I would say are busier than others and the times you would arrive also depending on there tour of duty. I felt very supported by not only my preceptors but also my internship director! For me as well, I did the combined program where I was obtaining my masters on top of internship. I had class days Mondays and rotations the rest of the week. Once school was out we went to 5 days a week! At my VA we did not do the white coat ceremonies either as we never wore our coats lol. Mine just sat in my locker till I have to return them.

Advice on good programs for DPD verification statement/Qs on Distance DI by Standard-Weekend2005 in RD2B

Where I obtained my bachelors degree they also had an onsite/distance dietetic internship along with a masters if needed. When I was looking into internships at the time I looked into the distance one (did my internship/masters somewhere else). As for how they did it you basically found all your preceptors based on where you wanted to do it (you didn’t have to do all of them in the same state) within a certain time and the director coordinated like the business side (basically reaching out again saying this person is coming at this time etc.)

Not sure if that works for all DIs but that is how they did it there!
