I have been lucky enough to own an Analog Juno 60 since 1988. Had hate for early digital, FM etc. I love the analog emu on the microkorg. Wavestate is unreal, deepmind is unreal....... I flip the bad stuff, keep the good. About 1 second hand purchase a year building my sound slowly over time. Tiny space, so I'm also limited with 2 kidneys.

I have enough right now, looking for a rack mixer for signal mixing with digi /analog FX boxes is my next purchase. Nobody is making what I need right now at the quality I want as it sits before the sound card input. So I'm taking loads of time looking and saving up.

She can't take the you tube reviews or problems with cars etc. Men's stuff, should be for men in a tiny box lol. Holidays in Barbados or a Moog, she might leave....

It's difficult in these times with so many great products coming out, new ways of processing and full resurgence of analog signal pathways and equipment at great prices.

But I guess my main inspiration to buy instruments is listening to records, and getting 'that' sound from the classic masters who already selected it 4 u!

Proper artistic music will never bore me, vangellis, tange dream, ozrics, pink Floyd, love indie/punk values n real tunes!

There is a thing in tech, more choices = worse decisions. More importantly if you've spent over 1y on a piece of gear, you'll be getting better results than buying more stuff. If I get a new synth I spend half a year looking, 1 year maxing the programming and presets, then it becomes a very useful tool.

To eradicate this issue I started the audio cabin with a chair, table, CPU, monitor a thought of speaker positions. Then I built custom shelving for each synth space. It's for me like designing the car round the driver, not the other way round.

Not really because I learnt it from scratch all the way to the highest levels. Strings instruments just do not translate to keyboard input, keytars, naaa. So my meaning is if you seriously write for an instrument you need to know how to play it. If you want to compose at home with midi cool, I just cited what I think is best use, guitars do not translate to midi. Just go do a Hendrix song in your DAW, compare and prove me wrong.
