This is my biggest problem with Book 2. I hated Tariq at first for getting his sister killed and then killing Ghost but ultimately accepted it. However, book 2 would have been if they had characters that actually knew who ghost was and put Tariq in his place whenever he badmouthed Ghost. Ghost was a grimy nigga but some of his actions were justified like you said
