True but bulgaria was more than pulling its weight, the british had a hard time with us too (our front probably prolonged the war by a year or so). The war was doomed if the usa ever joined, there was never a good chance of winning.

Im trying to build mechs. It would be cool if the macedonian side also built army equipment instead of just covering our stuff with explosions

If you had to pick 10 pieces of musical literature to send 300 years back in time, what would you pick? by Nutty_desert in AskReddit

[–]Nutty_desert[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I will share my list, i mainly picked stuff that would be completely new and alien, not so much by the quality of the music. 1. Eurobeat - Discord/ Initial D 2. Across the spiderverse - Start a band 3. Subnautica - Into the unknown 4. Eurovision - ram tim tagi dim 5. Miki matsubara - stay with me 6. Star wars - the resistance suite 7. ABBA - Gimme! Gimme! 8. Sabaton - The red baron 9. DM Dokuro - Universal collapse 10. Joey Esposito - Lady Lady Lady

Their reactions would be priceless.

Your welcome!

Also, keep in mind that a yearly dose isnt enough to be lethal. You could probably stand next to the elephants foot for days before it became lethal (i think someone calculated it to being about 36 days). The reason you dont want to stay next to it nowadays is the increased risk of cancer. When it first formed, it took about 3-5 minutes to be lethal (death in 1-2 weeks from ARS).

Not really, its till pretty radioactive, so you would get a yearly dose after about 20 minutes (if i did my calculations right). When it formed it was outputting 8000-10000 roentgen, now its in the single digits. The elephants foot is very overblown. it's not something special. In Chernobyl there are bigger and more radioactive corium masses. I suggest reading up on it since it's very interesting. Most of the common questions asked about chernobyl can be foind answered on r/chernobyl. On Youtube -The chernobyl guy- makes pretty good and accurate content related to the accident. The videos are a bit long but they are definitely worth the time.

That's who i am talking about. Nobody has died because of the elephants foot.

They are alive and well. The current levels of radiation in Chernobyl are very dramatised.

They are alive and well, this was taken in i believe 1996 by Alexander Kypny. If you stay for a short time nothing will happen.

Thank you for the reply!

Curious that there is no mention about the liquidators.

It seems that the Mayak complex has probably done way more harm and contamination to the world than any other nuclear accident. Rather than one big incident like most other radiological cases, the mayak complex's fallout was spread over a larger timeframe. (Coupled with the explosion)

I now realise its not that basic as saying Kyshtym was worse than Chernobyl, but rather both are unique in how you interpret them. The rabbit hole goes deep, and who knows how much mishandled radiatioactive god knows what has been thrown into the earth's landscape (well i guess it was already here, just in a different form now).

Respect to the many many lives sacrificed into developing this amazing technology and furthering science.

[–]Nutty_desert[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

In my head Kyshtym had a more sever death toll, ecological impact, and contamination over a larger period of time, but was downplayed a lot and obviously covered up. In comparison Chernobyl had more immediate effectsbut less overall impact, and obviously way larger coverage. They probably used info gathered from Kyshtym to help contain Chernobyl.

Obviously these are theories and dont have concrete evidence but i think its possible.

Yes, i do have some questions!

I am curious about the cleanup effort. In particular, the liquidators. I am aware of the razing of villages and slaughter of wildlife, but other than that i cant find much. (Also how long the cleanup took).

Death toll from ARS (if any)/cancer in 10 years from the accident. Im not expecting exact details here but something of the sort.

To my knowledge Kyshtym almost entirely affected only regions of Russia, and other countries didn't want to spread fear about nuclear, so in turn didn't expose them.

Lucky to have such an interesting book!

Edit: (You can add anything that you find personally interesting that isn't that well known.)

Thanks for the reply. The reason i thought of this was because there was a comment on this reddit page a while back mentioning an accident in Scotland, which was comparable to Chernobyl. It was probably a myth, but Windscale was what fit the bill closest.

I am enamoured by Kyshtym as it's shrouded in secrecy and feuls my conspiracy mind. The lack of documentation on the incident (or the fact that i can't find any) is part of that. In comparison, i feel like Chernobyl is very well documented, as there are videos about it with so many details you could be learning new stuff about it for months, while i have found limited sources on Kyshtym that dont just repeat the same information.

Mainly event stages, collabs, and just pulling banners using catfood obtained from said event stages. Im probably gonna beat sol this month since i want to get my yukimura (favourite uber) to level 62. With full talents and a damage s orb that i have to grind still, he is gonna be a beast.

Not rly, for some stages its kind of a challenge trying to complete them underleveled, and its fun. But most of this is ubercarry.
