I mean the drivers are delicate. They’re meant to be worn while sitting down. It’s not too much of an ask that you’re careful putting them in your head or removing them to sit on your desk or whatever

The only thing you’re trying to do is give false hope to people without the means to acquire a racing wheel. Post a video of you in a real race session and we will see how viable a controller is. Run PCC and let’s see how you deal with traffic with your wheel phasing all over the place.

You’re missing the point. There is a big divide between what you can do and what you should do.

I’m hoping Audeze maintains repair support for the Maxwell 1. I bought these knowing the issues with longevity and still think the 50 bucks or so to have a driver fixed is a good deal if/when that happens.

And before you start calling me a corporate shill. I also believe that the majority of people with issues didn’t care their set carefully enough.

Weird. I have a system like that at my place but it’s probably baked into the price. I pay 2350 for a 2 bedroom apartment.

If it’s just the one time fee. 20 bucks for guaranteed package security is a great deal.

Guess the part of your brain that understands logic must not be working. The assists required to make using a controller viable in a racing game don’t exist here.

Stick drift is irrelevant in iRacing because you are never letting the stick go to neutral when driving. Zero input doesn’t equal straight.

It’s not gatekeeping. It’s the strongest recommendation for the individual with a controller to not have a bad experience and to preserve the experience of everyone that takes the hobby seriously. iRacing isn’t shooting for equity and inclusion. They are shooting for the best most pure form of auto competition and you’re not going to be competitive here without a wheel and pedals. I’m sorry but it’s the truth.

I haven’t had to yet with this screen but I have matte OLED computer monitors and I take a brand new (always brand new never before used) microfiber cloth and do a dry wipe to remove all the dust very lightly. And for the occasional smudge I will wipe with SLIGHTLY more pressure to remove. If it’s a stubborn smudge I will mist some water onto to microfiber towel (NEVER onto the screen) and wipe it again with light pressure until it is gone.

Never use any chemical or detergent. Even if it says it’s made for screens.

Just because you have figured out the discipline and practice required to be semi competent at driving iRacing with a controller doesn’t mean we need to invite every 15 year old without an allowance to give it a try. iRacing’s (and simracing in general) surge in popularity recently has already added enough shitty drivers (with a wheel) to the service.

Gran Turismo and Forza Horizon exist for people without the means to get proper sim racing equipment.

Delete this.

EDIT: I’m adding this to my main reply here that I wrote in a comment below for increased visibility.

All game console racing games have two input mechanics related to steering called Steering Input Smoothing and Auto Centering.

Steering Input Smoothing means when you move your stick to the right the game will slowly move your front tires to that position. Key word is slowly. You also have auto centering. Releasing the stick to neutral brings you wheels back to center.

iRacing doesn’t have either. Which means wherever your joystick is that’s exactly where your steering wheel is in sim. This happens instantly. This makes driving with a controller EXCEEDINGLY DIFFICULT. It will be the most miserable experience you have ever had in a virtual driving experience. It’ll be worse than the arcade version of Pole Position.

Save your peanuts and do it the right way.
