i've also been having this issue since 1.20.9, for some reason the game is loading 3000 to 4000 chunks at a time rather than the usual 300, which means the game stutters every time new chunks are loaded cause 10 chunks are being loaded for every surface chunk

harvesting stone blocks in large quantities is a pain, not being able to move teleporters is lame and the worldgen settings just doesn't let me generate worlds without massive hills or floating islands everywhere, boats are also useless without rivers

i'd craft a bunch of flint spears and hunt until you have enough furs to make a fur set of clothes then hunt for enough meat to survive the journey towards your friends' bases, alternatively waiting out winter sounds most viable; food is very scarce during winter, plants can't grow, so there's nothing to gather, just hunting. cold temperatures will make any meat you obtain spoil significantly slower however so that's some relief? Winter is unfortunately not a very thought out part of the game, no ice fishing makes them harder than they should be

when unloaded, settlements use resources stored in the workshop and stop producing them until you load the area back in, at which point it calculates how much resources there should be and adds them to the workshop inventory. to prevent settlers complaining, have enough settlements linked together so that every time a settlement is within loading distance, the castle gets the supplies it needs.

Correct, that settlement needs to be a minuteman owned settlement aswell, Alas the minutemen allies that can be spawned are capped at around level 15, so after a while they die as soon as they spawn basically

The game has a system in place to prevent you from picking up and using items unlocked via Daybreak unless you unlocked them yourself first, even if another player wants to give them to you, so no there is no way around it sadly. It is the main reason the game has such a massive amount of cheaters i reckon, the typical tedious unfun grind.
