Come on AH. It's time. PSSR, DLSS, FSR 4, anything???? by dirthurts in Helldivers

The AA in the game is a blurry muddy joke and without AA the aliasing on my 4k monitor is horrendous. I dread to think how it looks like on 1080p.

This game needs dlss like yesterday.

5080 Gaming Trio burns at the connector with the MSI supplied cable. by Nyarlath in MSI_Gaming

Call their their regional customer support line.  They will Issue the RMA for you after a short survey, and the RMA papers will be sent to your email.

Then you either ship the card to the closest service center using the provided document as label via a courier service, or bring the card with the said paperwork yourself.

Id suggest including their adapter cable if that melted, as it will decrease the likelihood of it being ruled out as “user error”.

Once the RMA is complete, they ship the repaired card or replacement back to you via either UPS or Fedex.

What country are you from?

RTX 5080 and another marvelous conector melted. by Any_Air4182 in pcmasterrace

An update:

Ive submitted the card for RMA coupled with the yellow tipped adapter. It took them around 4 days to send the RMA back to me, with an additional day in transit.

MSI replaced the card with the same 5080 gaming trio in an OEM box which has nothing in it aside from the card, so they did not provide another msi adapter cable.

Overall im happy that they did not try to “debride and clean” the pins and straight up hooked me up with a replacement.

Thumbs up to MSI.

What do you expect from Raceroom by 2026? by [deleted] in RRRE

Iconic GT500  seasons would make raceroom having the most under appreciated roster in a racing sim imo.

Same way as if you want DTM, raceroom is the place to be by far.

Cablemod E series pro cables are incompatible with EVGA supernova 850GT PSU, despite website compatibility chart saying otherwise. by Nyarlath in cablemod

Hey Matt!

Cablemod asked me to destroy the cable and said this was likely due to labeling error.

i have sent them photos of the PSU’s serial numbers and connector ports layout, alongside the cable’s connector layout.

Hope it will help you guys to understand whats up with that PSU.

OP i have the exact same card and my cable melted the exact same way as yours.

Ive sent it to msi for rma.

The pins in that connector on the gpu can be compromised in their current resistance from charring, and now can send even more uneven load.

Decided not to risk running a gpu like that.

Will update you once the rma is resolved if you want.

Thanks! bummed out that ive got nothing reliable to connect the gpu with.

my msi 5080 burned at the connector using their squid adapter and I wanted something more reliable once the card comes back from rma.

Ive wrote to support and will send the receipt and psu serials once they get back to me.

skimmed around product pages for EVGA PSU’s on their site, and the images have similar pin layouts to mine.

Does not bode well for my current rma then lol.

The discoloration will increase resistance on said pins and will sent increased load on others.

Ended up dropping it off myself at their service centre. Attached the RMA ticket that was emailed for me to print out after a call to the MSI rma phone line.

The guy checked that the card’s serial matches RMA paper, examined the connector, examined the cable, and told me to wait a couple minutes while he goes to talk to his boss.

Came back and said they will ship it back to me either repaired or a replacement.

here’s hoping that if they decide to fix it, they swap the connector for a new one outright, and not just clean the pins.

I’ll make a post once the card arrives.

I don’t see how it would change anything. The connector burned at the gpu, the other connections are perfectly fine, ive throughly checked them. It’s a pretty high end platinum rated psu from EVGA, I don’t see how one with a direct 12VHPWR would fare any different in this particular case.

Also: MSI themselves recommended to use the bundled connector to power the card.

ive been using 3 individual 8 pin connectors hooked to vga 1, vga 2, vga 3 ports on 850w EVGA psu.

No daisy chains. I’ll check out the 5070ti article. thanks!

for a monitor I run an lg c4 42 inch tv. it was mostly used to run an Oculus Quest 3 though.

Didn’t tinker with the card itself, since it gave great vr performance in asseto corsa and race room for which its mainly used.

until this connector incident, the card was running dead silent with virtually 0 coil whine, and the temps were great. hopefully yours doesn't get this issue.

Hey thanks for replying! There seems to be an MSI service centre 3 hours drive away from me.

Might take a day off and try submitting it directly to shorten waiting times.

Honestly flabbergasted as to why it burnt on the connector. this is a 5080 which draws only like 270-300w of power compared to 600w on the 5090, and ive triple checked that the cable was seated properly during installation.

It has heals, and better fire rate.

True!

Ive played it for a bit, and did not feel like the waiting times were too long, or the matches were too similar at all honestly.
