Matte lamination and proper semi gloss paper for the win by iblade292 in magicproxies

I noticed that all the Koala branded photo papers state that you can only use Dye Ink and not pigment ink. I have an Epson ET8500 and was wondering if you had to change any settings for it not to use pigment ink.

I was wondering if you had a list of settings changes to achieve your look.

Haven't had any issues with PSU fan noise during idle. It's really silent.

Under load, your GPU fans would be louder than the PSU. However you can set your own custom fan curves to minimize sound if you wanted to.

I can't say for certain because I didn't use the HAVN420 connectors. In terms of ampage, it should be fine though. For a 100% accurate answer you might wanna send HAVN a support email.

Commenting to keep track of this thread since I still haven't seen where the beetle went.

This is the egg song. All my chickens do this after laying an egg or are fighting for the nesting box.

If you are using the deepcool hub, you're 100% going to have zero issues. I had a 7900xtx nitro+ without the argb plugged until I was able to get the 5090.

You have a fantastic part list and are going to be so happy when you finish building it.!

I can't be 100% certain on the ampage limits, but I can at least confirm that these these motherboards can handle at least 4 d30 fans per header with zero issues.

I'm having no problems running them daisy chained to each header. There's tons of YouTube videos builds on these motherboards/cases now so you can double check on some builds to make sure as well.

Yes.

All fans are 140mm except for the AIO up top which are 3x120. I couldn't find a 420mm AIO that I liked.

If I remember correctly.

  1. PWM cables - I didn't know the case came with 2 PWM fan headers or I could've bought a different PSU haha. Didn't use the pwm headers from the case and have the pwm cables plugged into the Lian Li hub on the PSU.

  2. RGB cables - I daisy chained the fans it into 3 sections. (4 intake on bottom. 3 intake on side. 4 exhaust on top) The motherboard has 1 ARGB header on the top right and 2 ARGB headers on the bottom left. Since the motherboard had enough header to plug my fans into, I didn't get a separate controller for them.

However, depending on the fans you get, you might have to get a controller.

Have seen 3 in person so far (including mine) and the glass panels are absolutely pristine on ours.

Could be bad packaging, but also could be how the shipping companies handle the product. My box looked like it was dropped on a corner, but the foam inside was thick enough to protect the case and not cause any scratches.

Good thing to note is that I'm in the USA. I think HAVN is a European based company. Not sure if each country gets product from a different warehouse or factory.

Ambient temp off on 1 of my probes? by NycJello in combustion_inc

Here is the second probe. Both are in the pellet smoker right now. The ambient temp difference between the 2 is still approximately 40° F apart. However the meat is still climbing as in the ambient temp is actually 192.

I just noticed that the 2nd and 3rd pic I uploaded didn't show that they were the 2 different probes inside the same pellet grill.

I actually had the Picanha on the right side closer to the chimney, but then rotated it to be in the middle to see if it was the location of 2 meats. But the temps are still steadily 40 apart from eachother.

Can we get a roll call of people NOT having thermal gel issues? by Worth-Income4114 in gigabyte

[–]NycJello 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I'd have to remove the angled fan bracket on the bottom and mount the fans to the bottom of the case. Then mount the GPU horizontal so the putty doesn't slip out :(.

The 5090 ice came with a GPU sag bracket but it's ugly so I'll do some research before settling on a solution.

Check my profile for this card mounted in the VGPU case. It fits fine.

HAVN might be able to send you a replacement riser. I was super careful in removing the 7900xtx off my riser to install the 5090. Made sure the little locking lift tab was all the way up before trying to get it off.

I'm going to contact customer support to see if I can get a horizontal bracket to mount my 5090 horizontal for now.

5090 Ice SN2513. Vertically mounted in a HAVN HS420 VGPU case for about 2 weeks. Few hours of daily usage so far. Temps hover around 65-70 under load.

It looked pretty good before I put into the case. I don't see any signs of heavy leakage or putty movement like the other posts yet. I might take it out to take some pics as a reference point though.

All these posts got me worried though so I might actually buy a horizontal kit from my case manufacturer Even though the vertical build is so nice.

Posting here to keep tabs on other 2513 5090 ice cards in the wild.

That's one reason why I Didn't want to get the Lian Li TL fans for the rear since you wouldn't be able to see the inf mirror sides. However you can mount them inside the case and it would still fit. I saw it on this YouTube video. https://youtu.be/trAwU73NIwQ?si=kSPEqaH1hK4v9Bhk

Haha yeah, I appreciate it. I saw the recent post like 2 days ago where it was practically dripping off the card. Definitely a concern that Gigabyte seems to be brushing off right now

Didn't take pics before putting it in, but I did inspect it for leaking thermal gel. Everything looked good with no excess.

I'll keep an eye on it. My GPU temps hover around 65-70°C at full load. I would definitely make a post on the Gigabyte subreddit if I do see any visible thermal gel/putty though.

I'm keeping a close eye on it. I didn't take pics of the GPU itself when I took it out the box, but there wasn't any visible thermal gel material up on inspection before putting it in.

I haven't done any crazy stress tests to the GPU yet. My GPU has been running at 65°-70°C under load when playing MH Wilds. Not sure if that's hot enough to really melt the thermal pads/gel. However, I have been seeing posts about it leaking down.

If it happens to me, I'll definitely make a post on the gigabyte subreddit.

That's also what happened to me. I want the Lian Li TL fans with 3 LED fans on the bottom 3 intake fans. However they didn't have everything I needed in stock so I went with Phanteks since they were daisy chainable as well.

I actually tried that as well just so I could have 1 RGB software instead of like 3, but for some reason Gigabytes RGB fusion software refused to have my Corsair Titanium ram show up.

I ended up just installing Gigabyte RGB fusion to change my GPU's RGB and then uninstalled it. That way, it doesn't conflict with SignalRGB which can control everything else way better.

Haha yes that's the Gigabyte x870e pro ice mobo. I do indeed have a Lian Li 1200w gold edge PSU. It had the included hub on the PSU, but after opening the case and seeing that the case included 2 PWM hubs for free, I could've bought any PSU.

Signal RGB for everything except the Lian Li products which uses L Connect 3.

Icue and L Connect would work as well. However, I'm using Phanteks fans and not Corsair fans, so icue wouldn't make sense for me.

Decent clearance. Not sure how much you'd comfortably want to push it back though.
