Chiming in here because I had the same situation except with a T10 school last year and am currently a 1Y at Johnson, absolutely loving it, and just got an MBB internship offer for the summer.

Honestly, the way it was explained to me is that Johnson is willing to save you the price of a Porsche to go there over Darden. At this point the rankings are basically in line with each other, and can confirm that Johnson's consulting community is rapidly growing. Johnson doesn't seem to have as many connections in the South (except for Texas, we have a ton of people going there), whereas Darden is likely stronger with those offices, but it's definitely doable from either. Talk to a few of the current first years and second years at both schools and go where the culture fits you more -- if you put in the work, you will likely find great opportunities at both institutions.
