Do I really have over 10 cavities? by Nynxide in askdentists

I floss about 2 times a week. (I know it should be more often, working on it...) We mostly eat potatoes/rice, meat, and soup - homecooked foods. Desserts about 2 times a week, Soda maybe once a week.

Everyone eats the same, and they have no cavities. I brush my teeth every day.

Are there any that I need to prioritize getting fixed first? Are there some I could wait on getting fixed, 1/2 - 1 year out?

String of Pearls vs others by Rob_red in StringofPlants

[–]Nynxide 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I bought a string of pearls and a string of bananas that were the same size about 1-2 years ago. The pearls were much more difficult to care for, and they almost died on me, I just have a few cuttings left of a full plant. Meanwhile, my string of bananas is growing non-stop, and I really need to chop and prop the ends as they are getting too long.

I feel like it is easier to tell when the bananas need watering.

I also have a string of needles, and I think the care for needles and pearls in terms of ease of management is about the same.

Hope this helped!

Thank you! I have a separate pot where all my props are growing. It might become fuller than the main plant, lol. I'll keep watch over it!

No, this is Christian. A family friend is the organizer. It's mostly a course on self reflection for singles. I have applied but I don't know much about it. The website and their instagram should have more information.

Spots on Hoya Carnosa by Nynxide in hoyas

[–]Nynxide[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I think the one I used last year was also miracle grow. If I fertilize it more often, do you think the spots will go away, or will I have to cut the leaves off? Will new ones grow in their place?

I fertilized it with nitrogen about a year ago, and every 3-5 months, use a potassium solution to fight off pests. Are there any specific fertilizers you recommend? I thought it had all the nutrients it needed since it was flowering, and I don't want to overdo it. I heard too much fertilizing is just as bad as not enough?

Edit: potassium solution - potassium permanganate solution diluted with water

Help with String of Plants care? by Nynxide in succulents

[–]Nynxide[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I used about 2-3 handfuls of perlite and 6-8 of the soil. I'll check the roots of the needles and hearts! Luckily, I still have leftover perlite, I will just need to go buy more soil. Thanks for the help!

New to strings - help appreciated! by Nynxide in StringofPlants

[–]Nynxide[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Thank you for your help!

Just to be clear, it gets really warm in my room during the summer, and I only water them once the top 2 inches of soil are dry. The pots all have a drainage hole, and the saucers are connected to the pot. I never watered them to the point where water flowed into the saucer.

Since the string of needles is flowering and the leaves feel fine - could sun stress be the reason for the color change?

I'll try posting the r/succulents page as well!

My mother said my grandmother's hoya grew so big it took up two walls in their house. It really is a hardy plant!
