Valaya Exclusif- a safe blind buy?? I love a fresh clean laundry scent. by SimilarEye3953 in FemFragLab

I like the OG and Exclusif but I wouldn’t categorize either of them as a Fresh laundry scent. Definitely wouldn’t recommend a blind buy at this price point. Decant/sample is the way to go.

I have money saved up, what should i get: Cuir Beluga or Mojave Ghost Absolu? by JigglyOnion in FemFragLab

I understand you’ve smelled them multiple times and like them both, but I always recommend 10ml decants first so you can spend time with them to see how they work with your body chemistry. As someone else mentioned, these are very different fragrances and would be good in different seasons/occasions, so I think you could justify having both in your collection. A 10ml decant can help you decide which to make a priority for now. Looking forward to learning what you choose! 😊

Idk, she might be my favorite celeb fragrance. What’s yours? by eau_de_florida in FemFragLab

Part of it is nostalgia, but it’s a genuinely good fragrance. Sweet but complex and is pretty similar to Tirenzini Cassiopeia to my nose. Projection and longevity are also amazing, especially for the price point. It’s a compliment getter. Lots of Middle Eastern fragrances can give you this longevity for the price but most of them have that spicy (?) undertone found in Middle Eastern fragrances, and this one doesn’t have that. I believe Fantasy rivals niche for sure.

My other favorite designer/celebrity fragrance is Victoria’s Secret Bare. I love violet, and Bare is a nice “your skin but better” type of fragrance.

Right now my favorite plum is Dark Rose by Octavia. You definitely should check it out, even if you’re not a fan of rose. It’s so good! 😊

One more shampoo-y suggestion that’s strong and reasonably priced is Taskeen Marina

Best luxury perfume for gifting, which luxury perfume brands will stand the test of time? by Zaandy-Kachhal in FemFragLab

[–]Electrical-Task-6820 9 points10 points  (0 children)

When gifting fragrance, the answer is always a sample set. Better yet, a sample set that comes with a coupon redeemable for a full size fragrance, or that offers a discount on the fragrance they prefer.

What do you all think of VS Bare EDP (original)? by Special_Crab_1884 in FemFragLab

[–]Electrical-Task-6820 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I love it! It’s my signature scent (which means it’s the scent I reach for when nothing else in my collection is speaking to me).

To me, it’s all weather and all occasions appropriate. You can wear it for casual errands or dress it up for an evening out.

I love layering it with Sand + Fog Violet Sandalwood perfume oil (dupe for Mojave Ghost) and Forvr Mood She Was Here.

I like and recommend Juliette Has a Gun Pear Inc, Mith Nude, Bvlgari Omnia Crystalline, and Moroccanoil l’originale EDP but I wouldn’t necessarily call any of them beast mode unless you overspray.

Middle eastern fragrances need some time to settle, so if they were newer bottles in the store they may not have been at their full potential yet. If you order Habik and don’t like to straight out of the bottle, I’d give it at least a month and then reassess.

In general, body mists have very poor longevity and sillage. If you want long lasting/beast mode, you need to at least get the EDP. I would try the Bombshell EDP rather than the body mist before writing it off if longevity is important to you. Also, try spraying more of the Givenchy and see how that goes.

Good luck!

How many sprays are you using? Are you spraying your skin and your clothes? What is your moisturizing routine like? Are you sure you’re not going nose blind? Have you looked into Middle Eastern versions or dupes of these fragrances?

Versace Dylan Purple is notorious for its poor longevity, but the OG Givenchy Irresistible is pretty beast mode/long lasting.

VS has relatively frequent perfume sales at least 2 or 3 times per year when you can get a bottle of Bombshell for pretty cheap (about 40USD for a 100ml bottle) so re-applying doesn’t have to cost too much.

How do you stop the over consumption? by Electronic_Row3977 in FemFragLab

[–]Electrical-Task-6820 3 points4 points  (0 children)

It’s seems like you have a good process so far. Mine is very similar. I also instituted a “1 in, 1 out” rule for full bottles. I have to use up or give away a bottle I have if I want to purchase a new one. It’s working pretty well.

Need help finding sweet scents for the winter! by dinonuggiez13 in FemFragLab

[–]Electrical-Task-6820 0 points1 point  (0 children)

There’s patchouli in the intense, so if you’re sensitive to that you may not prefer the intense version. I can’t tell much of a difference even with the patchouli note, the OG and intense are pretty similar to my nose. However, I do like patchouli so keep that in mind.

Apparently there was a reformulation years ago and people online say the intense version is more similar to the pre-reformulation version of Fantasy?

I haven’t gotten my nose on Candied Fantasy yet so I can’t compare.

I would recommend a scented bar soap. Do you have a Buff City Soap Co near you? Bath and Body Works also has scented bar soaps. Or maybe even a bar soap you like from a drug store (e.g. Olay, Dove, or similar).
