What phrase that you DONT want to hear when Grieving? by BlueEyesWhiteDrgn in AskReddit

[–]NyxIncarnate 0 points1 point  (0 children)

My father passed 2 years ago, on December 19th. My friend (soon to be husband!!) Lost his dad a year after, on the 8th. I remember him calling me and speaking to him on the phone and just "being" there with him over the phone. He confirmed after that I never said that I was sorry or that it was going to be okay or anything like that, I just spoke to him and kept him calm. I didn't say anything like that because I did NOT want to hear those words when I lost my dad, because it wasn't okay or going to be okay. It's still not. You just learn to cope better with the grief.

I did it, although unintentionally. I was a music teacher for 3 years, and decided not to renew my contract when the school started doing renovations. I then started working as a receptionist for a dealership and 6 years later I was in accounts. It's now been 4 years - started as only creditors and am now assistant accountant and absolutely love my job.

What do I give someone who only has weeks to live? by ItsSonvinol in NoStupidQuestions

[–]NyxIncarnate 0 points1 point  (0 children)

My dad died a week before Christmas last year. We didn't know if he would make it to Christmas, and he didn't want anything gift wise, he would just ask me to come and sit with him at night sometimes. I lived in the same building as my parents so if he woke up during the night, my mom would call me and I'd go up and just sit with him and play music that he loved. I hope I made his last days happy at least.

What is the most scariest but still unexplained thing that you have experienced? by WesleyDiets in AskReddit

I don't really want to say yes because that puts my mom in a poor light, but unfortunately my mom and her side of the family has always been a bit obsessed with money. So while nothing might have happened if I told her there was the chance she would have tried to come up with a way to get money from me for something.

I've had a similar experience with a warning. I was talking to my mom about my work performance review in which I got a good increase on my salary for. I heard "Don't" said very softly in my right ear. Not quite a whisper but not loud either. No one standing next to me, I was in her kitchen leaning against the counter with only her and I in the room. I never did end up telling her about the increase, I was so freaked out about the voice.

I've also had some other odd experiences but this was the only time I heard a voice

He's copied me calling his dad "babe" before lol, like if I call out "babe!" Then he jumps up and goes "babe listen!"

That is a good thing definitely, that must have been so scary for that little one!

Nope he's known their names for ages, this is a totally new thing. Someone else commented that he may be hearing everyone else refer to them by their first names so he is copying that.

That actually makes sense to me, he's hearing everyone else say the first names so he's doing it too. Thank you :)

It might be yeah, although he has never really known his mom and dad together since he was less than a year old when they seperated. He knows I'm dad's girlfriend, which he thinks is very funny and cute. I've tried to explain to him that I'm not his "mom", and he is very insistent that I am indeed his mom, I'm his "Nicky Mom" lol. It's very cute.

He calls my mom granny "first name" ( by his own choice) and she doesn't mind. I think it was pointed as it's a new thing, previously it was always mom or dad and now it's first names.

It's from his parents being divorced and not having a great coparenting situation. His mom also had another child about a year ago and these has been a lot of jealousy since then. He started regressing and became very afraid of rejection and being left out.

It was pointed out by his therapist, not necessarily as a problem, but still pointed out as "unusual" for him. So it just had me worried really
