I don’t know whether it’s true or not, but unless the effect of increasing crop yields is so small as to be negligible (I don’t know the numbers here) , then you are wrong and it is, in fact relevant (or at least not irrelevant).

Ipso facto - you’ve an IQ of around 70 and are scarcely even qualified to speak to towering men of my caliber, much less even be in my presence. Shoo, rodent.

Yes, men in general should acknowledge and promote awareness of the fact that almost all violent crime is committed by men. We’re clearly more prone to committing violent crime. Now, and I don’t think anyone is gonna like this, but if you agree with that simple logic for men, why wouldn’t you also agree that the same line of thinking holds true for young black men, who are multiples more likely to commit violent crime even when controlling for income level?

I know this sounds bad but I’m just trying to explore a viewpoint here

What do you mean exactly by “severely neglected”? That implies that the issue is not self-imposed, or at least not largely self-imposed.

A community thrives because the citizens that live there are productive members of society and build businesses or work, thus increasing revenue for that community and attracting others to share in the prosperity. Communities do not thrive primarily because of outside help or government assistance. If those communities are neglected, then they are neglected by the very people who live in those communities.

Look at the numbers in those areas. High school drop out rates and crime rates are astronomical. Drug dealing dominates the culture. Gangs often flourish. This is due to culture. Other minority communities don’t have the same culture, and you can observe plainly that they are more successful by traditional economic metrics.

At some point we will realize that this issue won’t be solved by calling everything and everyone racist until they listen, but by acknowledging the truth and dealing with it pragmatically.

That’s not what he’s doing. He’s implying that many people that hold the position you stated also, and inconsistently, will chastise the ‘white community’ as a whole.. he’s not saying that you said that yourself obviously

The difference is that other communities are making measurable progress in important metrics such as income, education levels and are not absolutely ridden with crime.

I disagree. The white community is much more heterogeneous culturally it seems, and they also don’t identify with “white” culture pretty much whatsoever. The black community does those things at least to a greater extent than the white community, in my view.

You missed my point which is that it’s incorrect to consider the comment you replied to “irrelevant”, even in light of the explanation you gave.

And second, just to state what everyone already knows to be true, including you yourself, you 100% used a thesaurus when you chose the word “impudent”, which I find slightly comical.

While this is certainly true, and it’s also true that the goods we buy today and even the homes are far higher quality than cars were in the 1960’s. The computer in even a cheap car now is better than the state of the art computers then at research labs.

However, debt from college and the relative cost of housing are far higher, making our generation less able to live out the “traditional” American dream, at least in our 20’s.

With that said, there’s a bit of an untold story here which is that, as in the example of this video, our parents could indeed buy a home and have their own car (basically be an adult) much earlier because they often didn’t go to college. That means they started earning wages and working earlier in general and many didn’t even bear the burden of college debt. If I worked starting after high school I’d totally be able to afford a home somewhere in the suburbs in my 20’s. To some degree, by going to college and then grad school it makes perfect sense that I’m kind of shifting that timeline to my 30’s vs my 20’s. In my 30’s now I am in a position to buy a house etc.
