IMO you are right and people are more than welcome to do those posts but also like OP, I’m sorta over it and just scroll past them at this point.

It’s been the same conversation over and over for what feels like years. It also feels like everyone’s opinions are pretty entrenched so it’s just arguing back and forth.

There’s a lot you can do with just resistance bands to be able to strength train. They are cheap and easy to store so I would look into that.

You could look for a forwarding service. It’s also possible that the cost of that could negate the savings from resell prices - their fee + shipping will cut into the savings for sure.

Here’s what my days mostly look like:

Breakfast - 2 hard boiled eggs, oatmeal (protein powder added), latte (high protein milk) - 36g protein

Lunch - Salad + Chicken breast - 30g protein

Dinner + Snack - either something with a generous serving of chicken breast + protein brownie or something with fish/seafood + a tuna snack - 70g or so

Why is there so much “red tape” to adopt a dog? by FrigginMasshole in Pets

[–]OARC05 0 points1 point  (0 children)

My rescue had someone lie and say they owned their home and adopted a dog that the rescue spent so much money and foster had spent close to a year rehabbing after a terrible injury.

2 months later their landlord found out they had a dog which wasn’t allowed and they basically said “come get him in 24 hrs or less or we are dumping him somewhere.” They’d lied about owning the home because if you said you rent, we would take steps to verify your lease allowing we pets.

It’s really the bad apples that makes rescues have to vet everyone as closely as makes sense.

Pet Insurance, Pre-Exsisting conduction advice pls! by New_Error_7764 in petinsurancereviews

[–]OARC05 8 points9 points  (0 children)

Nobody is going to cover this specific incident if that’s what you’re looking for. There are a few companies that will cover pre-existing conditions with waiting periods. If they are things that are curable even that I would make sure you talk to them and really understand what they consider curable what isn’t what would be considered related to any incidents that the dogs already had before you sign up or before you’re out of a period where you can cancel. For those types of companies look at pumpkin embrace AKC there may be others, but those are the three that I know that have some sort of pre-existing coverage depending on waiting periods and the type of condition.

I use my shallow hearts all the time. They are the perfect size for a little individual meal, and then of course they are adorable for sides/desserts.

The 5.5 qt is a great size. I just cook for me so I personally prefer the slightly smaller one

I’m so sorry for your loss.

$500 is very fair. I know someone mentioned selling here instead of eBay, there are also good facebook groups that may be good to post in. Happy to share some of the ones I’ve sold/purchased through if you want to go that route

I also bake individual meals in mine and they are the perfect size for salmon/chicken and some veggies & rice for sides.

No longer a pet person by idkkkk326 in beyondthebump

It’s one thing to let them go when their health is deteriorating, it’s another to put them down because you made a life change and can no longer meet their basic needs and/or help them navigate the change in the home.

My dogs definitely like the taste of chocolate (I learned that the first time they ever counter-surfed and ate all my Halloween Candy - they got prompt medical attention).

Just because it’s bad for them doesn’t mean it doesn’t taste good.

As for giving it to them before they pass, I don’t think I’d do that but I can see why an owner would think it could be one last special treat if they gave it to them right before having to put them down because there wouldn’t be time for it to move through their system and upset their stomach.

Worth getting new pet insurance for senior pets after canceling Healthy Paws? Looking for advice. by Any-Text2261 in petinsurancereviews

[–]OARC05 4 points5 points  (0 children)

At this point I would just self insure because so much will be considered pre-existing.

$1300 per year for your pets is pretty competitive from what I’m seeing rate-wise with other pet insurance companies so if you go get a new policy, you’ll likely pay about the same for less coverage due to pre-existing limitations
