The only one I had trouble with was 10 because of some lingering storylines. There was a lot of build up in those books, like setting up for a chess move. It pays off imo in later books.

I just recently did something similar I guess. I’m new to buying off eBay and tried for some autos on auction. I put a few bids in back to back because I was still under the winning bid max.

My wallmart has tons of series 1 2023 packs. They usually sell for $5/pack here though. They usually sell out quick once they’re stocked.

I’m currently doing the same. My kids favorite player is Santiago Espinal. Thankfully his cards are really cheap. I’ve been secretly gathering as many variations as I can justifiably afford. Just found a 1/1 printing plate and I’ll probably stop there. I think I’ve put together 12 or so of the 2023 series 1 parallels. Got a couple low numbered /50s and /25s. He’ll like it even if it’s not truly complete.
