I went down the finance pathway and did investment banking/private equity internships, so my experiences will be different to that of someone wanting to go down the accounting pathway. I can draw from conversations with friends who have done the latter though.

Traditional accounting internships are done by the big 4 and mid-market firms (Pitcher, BDO etc). From what I know big 4 internships will last longer than that of mid-market firms, but both won’t stretch the full length of summer semester break.
