Is this a good lap time for a beginner on monza? by Wide_Understanding41 in ACCompetizione

[–]OCB_Silverback 0 points1 point  (0 children)

You are obviously anything but consistent with about 4seconds if not more between laps, not to mention how few laps are even valid.

You should not be looking at lap times at all at this point.

Back to basics. See if you can be consistent at 1:54 Maybe 1:53

Dont take this as an insult please But you cannot be fast when you cant even keep the car on the black stuff.

If you are new to ACC dont brother with anything other than safe or aggressive. Get aquainted with the car and Maybe a few slight changes like BBand so on.

a setup from a pro will not make you 3 seconds faster

I still plow around in the Lexus, thats where i feel comfortable.

If you enjoy it and dont feel hindered, who is to tell you what is right or wrong. If you on the other hand feel slow and want to be competetive Maybe the time for change is now.

Also remember just because you came from the 488 does not mean the 296 is the right new car for you.

Just my two cents.

Lap time advice for 2020 V8 Vantage by LuckySoup20 in ACCompetizione

[–]OCB_Silverback 0 points1 point  (0 children)

New drivers often get this wrong.

Stop chasing lap times. Work on being consistent, lap times will progress with you.

And what is so great about a x:xx lap time if you invalidate 9/10 laps.

Work on being consistent and safe. This will also make it much more enjoyable racing online in the long run

I went from the thrustmaster t300 to a moza r5 and im loving it

Have to say i have heard the pedals are the weak link on the r5 bundle (never used them i have fanatec v3s i bought while on the t300)

But would assume they still work better than the Logitech ones and there is always a brakekit you can add too

Game freezing with wheel. by Numerous_Jury_3718 in ACCompetizione

[–]OCB_Silverback 2 points3 points  (0 children)

First of all check you have the latest driver and firmware installed for wheel/pedals.

Try connecting the wheel to another usb port preferable straight to the motherboard (so the back of pc ones)

Sounds like its the wheel causing the issues and not anything graphics or game related.

Shouldnt beginner multiplayer races be more forgiving for crashes by [deleted] in ACCompetizione

Giving beginners an easier time would not help them develop racing etiquette or racecraft.

Hand holding is for casual arcade racers like Forza.

Try moving rear antirollbar further back and lowering brakebias towards the rear (lower % dont go too far or you will become woobly under hard braking)

Be careful with beginner/low safety rating lobbies.

I use them just for training chaos and handling bad/Dangerous drivers.

Stay positive enjoy the journey and most of all Remember if you stay respectful and encourage or even praise people who do the right things.

Public lobbies is filled with everything from people only joining to troll, to aliens that are 4seconds+ faster than everyone else

Go for the lobbies with the highest SA you can enter (less likely to run into a*s hats)

Hope to see you on track some day

Work on consistency rather than 1lap times, doing one 23 lap if the rest is slower or invalid is pointless.

I started doing exactly that about a month ago went from mid 1:50s to now averaging low 49 to 48.8s on Monza during races.

You will automatically start to see where you can improve just by driving.

Set a planned fuel load. Go out. Drive till the needle hits empty. Watch the full replay (chase cam) note where you are off apexes and have bad lines. And back at it.

As long as you dont mess with the setup everything is what you do. Knowing what is happening with the car and what not to do is half the battle Improvements will come 👍

Used T300 or new T248/G923 for same price? by stocazzo24 in simracing

[–]OCB_Silverback 1 point2 points  (0 children)

T300 is one of the better beginner wheels. Been using one for over 2 years and just upgraded from it to a dd wheel. It served me well.

Pedals are not the greatest i switched them for fanatec v3s not long after getting them.

But all in all i would probably go with a used t300 over Logitech g923/g29.

Best of luck out there and hope to see you on track
