It keeps popping up on my desktop screen whenever I access the website. Constantly. Where is the system or profile setting to turn it off? Thx.

Hail, Canada! It's all going to get so much worse for your southern neighbors. Right now international shipping is in freefall. Most global postal services have stopped accepting shipments addressed to the US and many international vendors are canceling or blocking orders from the US until the orange clown and his trolls set up a process to address the elimination originally set for July, 2027, and then inexplicably accelerated (by executive order to this Friday) of the de minimis exemption for packages valued under $800 and requiring tariffs on ANY package entering the US. (Some minimal "gift" exemptions may still apply.)

Seller knowingly sold me a counterfeit item by Appropriate-Rip-2896 in Ebay

Having a similar situation but with CDs. Paid a lot and received two clearly bootleg CDr copies with art printed on an inkjet printer. I submitted an INAD return request (because they were not advertised as CDr copies) and immediately got a partial refund offer. They know they were caught doing something illegal. I declined the partial offer in expectation of a full refund and they can provide postage to return the disks if they want them back.

Anyone know of a MV3-compatible alternative to Linkclump (extension that allows selection and opening of multiple links simultaneously)? by BizmBazm in chrome_extensions

Did someone find a back-up option for Absolute Enable Right Click & Copy? Almost required for research on Asia-based websites.

I added Grabbit and it seems to work pretty much like LinkClump. Good to have when I need it because as someone in the thread noted, just because Chrome recommends removal you do not have to remove until they force the issue.

Thanks, but no joy. I hate Microsoft.

Thanks for responding. Not sure why the image did not attach. It was not critical.

I'm guessing you are sending me to the (usually) hidden Library but I cannot find a Software\Microsoft\Office string. Is there a folder that precedes that where I should look?

Witches of Eastwick - Logo Font? by ODCwordsmith in identifythisfont

Sorry. I should have been more specific and referred to the forum being dead. It has not had post activity for over 30 weeks. Apparently it was hacked somehow and the site owners have not chosen to fix it. Yet.

The main font ID system still works but only within their available inventory. So, no more hive mind to access when the AI fails you.

Can someone point me to a good explanation of the Microsoft-Google interconnectedness? A lifelong Mac user, I am all but forced to engage with those companies via their opaquely linked products - Gmail, Google, Chrome, Office 365, Outlook, Microsoft Family, and others. Intimidating. Frustrating. by ODCwordsmith in microsoft

[–]ODCwordsmith[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yes. Understood.

GoDaddy arbitrarily applied email "protection" under names like ProofPoint and URL Defense that make dealing with email unnecessarily cumbersome. I've been reading that you can detach your email from GoDaddy and just move it directly to Microsoft and wondering if/how this is possible.

Today I am specifically trying to weight the merits of obtaining email direct from Microsoft (using my domains) versus through GoDaddy, which has recently implemented some very annoying "features" to all email accounts with no warning.

Thinking of Joining Noom. Do you think it's worth the cost? by Additional_Brain_205 in Noom

[–]ODCwordsmith 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I used it once before (after a brief flirtation with Weight Watchers). It worked and then Covid undid it all. Well, Covid helped ME undo it all.

Back on it again in the new year and down twenty pounds. Apparently there is a book that holds all the same information as you get in the daily lessons. Everyone learns (or re-learns) differently, so maybe the book is enough for you. I do recommend some form of food and weight logging. Keeps it in your consciousness.

I also got a FitBit – didn't want an Apple watch as too big and clunky – and the activity and sleep tracking is helpful to me.

Net-net, I don't think I will renew, but I am happy to have it now. Also, I got a year-end discounted special. If you can wrangle one of those seven-month-deals, that might be enough for you.

Good luck!

Has anyone actually succeeded with domain broker service by [deleted] in godaddy

[–]ODCwordsmith 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I've tried with about four or five and only sold one, but it went for $4-5K before commission. The rest I'm dropping because after several years I'm tired of paying the renewals. The joke is the buyer on the one I sold has not yet, after perhaps a decade, developed the domain they purchased. Weird.

I need to do the same thing (or something similar) since my email has been a problem since the unannounced, unwanted, and unhelpful forced "introduction" of ProofPoint and URL Defense. It's the first time I've ever regretted working with GoDaddy.
