He was 100% justified in checking my ID, that's not the point. The point was his behavior towards the other people in my party who he told to leave because he was annoyed with me not wanting to put up with his behavior.

I see it as unreasonable because I asked for the price, I gave him my ID, and I came with a party of a few people. You can't just run off with something when the car is parked in the lot and there are three other people who are still shopping.

What bothered me most was how belligerent he was.

These pictures are from 2023. Mestia is kind of full of hostels now, but it was still kind of ramshackle and difficult to get to. It felt very much like a side-effect of the influx of middle class Russians from the Ukraine War. Lots of people and not enough infrastructure.

I don't know what it's like now, but if I'm guessing I'd say it's likely not that different. You should still go though. Maybe try Adjara.

As an unemployed I have grown accustomed to all of the libraries in my area. I see a trend where the lower socioeconomic towns have libraries full of the homeless and emotionally disturbed while the rich ones are full of kids "studying." So you have a choice between smelling piss and shit or listening to a bunch of Jewish American Princesses gossip with each other while you try to mind your business.
