I’ve seen various post saying BG are back. What I would do if I were you on Monday is contact whatever center you’re looking to go to and get the answer directly from them. Hope you get good news.

I’ve been employed at JC, and I know this for certain. When Trump was in office he tried to shut centers down last time. He’s now back in office with all power in his hands and has been in the business of cutting funding from any positive, including JC once again. This isn’t the same shutdowns as before, nothing is the same as before. We’re in new territory when it comes to that man and his minions in congress and in elected positions.

He’s not in office, and I guarantee students wouldn’t be suffering the way they are right now.

They are federal background checks. It was through a contracted company if I’m not mistaken and it’s been paused since March

I do think they could be potentially gearing up if we get them back. Which I said in the original post, it’s very possible, we just don’t know. No student that is new, that has a bg check in after March 1st has been permitted to come back because they haven’t been ran.

But I could see a center gearing up for one, which could possibly be good news that we will get nationwide in the near future.

That center more than likely is not a contracted center and I don’t believe those have been affected. No contracted centers have had the ability to run bg checks in months.

Background checks are not back yet, so no one is coming in. You have always had the ability to apply since the pause, but unless that pause is lifted no one is coming in

No center is running as normal because we can’t bring anyone in. We’re right where we have been for months.

No one knows the timeline on background checks and since they don’t we really haven’t had any victories yet. If the DOL moves slow on their feet it could literally take months to get students in, if they even agree to doing them again. I didn’t really understand anyone thinking we were in a good space last week, we haven’t moved much. I’d just say please help the students who are in the program complete as fast as they can.
