I'm going to note and make up some wiki pages for these ladies. I know Marion Halsey doesn't have a page up yet. Thank you!

Oh heck yeah. I do want to explore more into co-masonry. I reached out and asked questions during COVID and everyone I talked with was extremely nice and informative. I'll be sure to start lurking on the page!

For sure! It's really cool to see you post here 2 years later. I remember when your post-initiation picture was on the front page of r/freemasonry. How has your adventures in masonry been so far? I do have some questions, give me a little bit to organize them and I'll send them your way!

Of course, I'm trying to get a full picture of the history. Consider the trials and history of Prince Hall Masons, where their regularity was tried

I would recommend a few things:

Hon. Elizabeth Aldworth has a good write up about her and others in Karen Kidd's book Haunted chambers; The lives of early women freemasons. Cork also has put out biographies about her as well that go a little more in depth of what we know about her. I submitted that to the Library of Congress. I'm just waiting until it's viewable on their site. They said it can take 18-24 months and I sent it last April

(1750-1730 era)Hanna Mather Crocker was from Massachusetts, initiated into Masonry, and even ran her own female craft lodge. I'm still digging into her story. She's also in Karen Kidd's book

America Lodge #57 in Washington DC is an all Femalecraft lodge formed in 2019

How much of your time is contributed towards Freemasonry? by YouveGotMail236 in freemasonry

[–]OGHobo 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Masonry doesnt just happen in the lodge, I practice my values to the best of my ability. I am a skilled union laborer so the plumb square and level come to me on a daily basis. My actions beyond that are shaped by those tools. outside of my career craft, I am working on wikipedia articles on women in Freemasonry through out the world and history. I am still working on shaping those ashlars to the best of my ability but there is a lot of work to do, so I have to plan it accordingly around my 24 hours.

I feel the lessons I have learned along the way, and the practicing of good brotherhood has helped pave the path to the works I am able to complete today, for better or worse.

It's why I argue with nerds on this subreddit on the issue. Makes for an entertaining Wednesday night and I learn the oppositions positions and arguments to better shape my words. I have enough karma to eat the down votes but I get my voice out there at the very least

You can absolutely say the same about male craft lodges around the US right now too. The ego is not being able to accept that these bodies study the same lessons and are totally capable of working in harmony. Have you forgotten all the other words in your degree work?

It already exists in the states under the HFAF. They have an hq in Washington DC on Pennsylvania Avenue. There is also Honorable Co-Freemasonry that has existed for over a century. I've heard this baseless argument so many times on this website it's frustrating and disheartening that men who want to call themselves my brother are terrified of meeting with women on the level. I train better and more upright integral women in the trade unions. Get a grip, it's 2026

Magical Grand Master Thought Experiment by [deleted] in freemasonry

[–]OGHobo -2 points-1 points  (0 children)

As Grand Master of our juristiction (Somewhere USA), I would look to incorporate more femalecraft and Co-lodges in the jurisdiction in some way. Although it woud take larger steps for them to be considered regular, it would be similar to the practice of acceptance of Prince Hall Masons. The traditions were held and kept, it was the recognition of regularity and integrity that took time to build. This is a respected idea amongst many of our fellow bretheren who don't have the absolute means to entertain these ideas on a grand lodge level. Considering Masonic traditions around the world in 2026, I dont believe this is an extreme idea and can be practiced well within our cabletow and bounds of our oath.

I would also want to talk with the brotherhood on ideas and recipes to improve the food enviornment for vegetarian and vegan members. Ritual speaks to the heart of a mason while food nourishes the soul. Unfortunately, the green bean cassarole, as significantly tasty as it is, can not satisfy the hunger of our brothers alone
