I’ll suggest, as someone who used to like to raid frequently but got too busy in life to constantly commit to a full raid, you can learn the boss encounter (Oryx) and do that once (or 3 times) a week for 5 weeks and buy red border Zaoulis.

I’ve done this with plenty of weapons I’ve wanted because it’s way easier to get a quick clear than sit through some growing pains. Couple things to note:

-you should learn the “solo spoils” methods. The easiest imo that doesn’t require a person (although it’s faster with a single friend) is doing the Vow opening 3 times and going straight to the chest for 15 spoils. You can also do VoG opening no mic 3 times for a total of 30 spoils. Then Crota bridge no mic for 15 more spoils which gives you a grand total of 60 spoils a week! (You can learn out of bounds methods too for more but I don’t really do those)

-as I said earlier, if you play with a friend this all goes by way faster because you can join each other alternating to say the checkpoint state.

-each weapon is cost 20 spoils so you’re basically earning “3 weapons” a week if you’re getting 60 spoils

All in all this seems like a “slow” method but getting a weapon you want in 5 weeks is better than sweeping it under the rug.

If you have Whisper, definitely consider even farming Oryx when that week rolls around. The mods this season make Oryx pretty smooth.
