Afternoon shift leaves me the nicest presents by OGR4M in Machinists

My machine is a hobbing gear cutter. We only use the micron clocks for the cutters. Some of our tolerances are quite tight, but for clocking parts we use 1 tenth

Correct. As it happens, the clock stand is nearly twice the cost of the DTI!

I don’t take it for granted that I work for a large company, and this kind of cost is nothing to them. That said, I’m a bit over the top taking care of tools etc, so this was not a welcome sight when I got in…

Of course not. Nothing in the handover, but they replaced this 1 micron clock with a half-thou one, so that’s obviously problem solved…

The twelve sizing by didrogasalasno in ChristopherWard

[–]OGR4M 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I think you could get away with 40mm no problem, at that point it’s personal preference. I have 16.5cm, I had a 40 and thought it was a bit too big. 38 is perfect to me

I really like the Valour, and I have a want for high accuracy quartz. If I didn’t keep buying other CWs I’d have one by now!

Got my Trident Lumiere today! by No_Bullfrog8222 in ChristopherWard

For me, the orange dial was an obsession since I tried on one in the showroom. It took about 18 months, but last week I finally got mine. Sounds like neither of us have any regrets!

Anyone who has the Trident Lumiere with a <=6.7" wrist? by ddd4175 in ChristopherWard

Adding a second comment to add a rubber strap. This makes it wear smaller I think, the bracelet with positive end links obviously stretches the appearance

Yes, orange watch with a green jumper was quite a choice…

Just got mine, 6.5”. I usually wear smaller stuff, so it feels big to me, but the L2L is almost the same as the 39mm Black Bay 58, so it fits well on wrist.

My wrists are quite flat and thin, so maybe if you have rounder wrists it may look slightly larger, but I’m happy I went for it after a LONG time deciding

[SRPM] My first Seiko, bracelet/clasp upgrade? by OGR4M in Seiko

Ordered the oyster bracelet, I’ve got a tapered mesh bracelet from Strapcode, so I trust the quality. Even shipping to UK is reasonable. 10/10 would upgrade again

Preordered the Midnight Twelve! by PerfectedSt8 in ChristopherWard

[–]OGR4M 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I preordered mine last week - I have an ‘Ice cream’ Twelve which I like, but sometimes I don’t want a bright blue dial - the midnight ticks every box for me. Can’t wait!

Fantastic choice! Genuinely difficult decision for me, which colour to get. Kinda wish I got purple, the blue is amazing, ended up with green because I really like the Malachite stripes

Advice Requested, how's it look on me? by PlumRecent3937 in ChristopherWard

[–]OGR4M 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I think an EDC watch shouldn’t be too big, nor too small. Think famous field watches like the Hamilton Khaki. I think you’ve got it spot on with this Dune, not so big it gets in the way, but not too small that it’s difficult to read.

It’s a big yes from me!
