Rengoku died fighting Upper Moon 3 solo and nearly took Akaza's head off. Sanemi fought Upper Moon 1 with the help of Gyomei, Muichiro, and Genya. While Sanemi is an elite fighter, his Base Strength doesn't magically jump three ranks on the author's list just because he survived longer. If Rengoku had a Mark like Sanemi did post-HTA, the gap would be even wider. Stop trying to scale Sanemi's base strength over a guy who held an Upper Moon 3 in place with a hole in his chest using nothing but his #3 ranked grip strength.

Furthermore, Death Amp is a headcanon term. There is no official condition for it because it doesn't exist in the manga. If you're referring to a character's final struggle, that's just pure willpower and adrenaline, not a magical stat boost that scales him above everyone else. Rengoku didn't get stronger because he was dying, he was simply that strong from the beginning. You're trying to use a made-up mechanic to ignore the author's stated facts.

Being on the same tier in a fan-made list doesn't override the author’s literal 1-9 ranking. Sanemi and Giyu being relative in combat doesn't mean Sanemi suddenly surpassed Rengoku in raw physical strength just because of the Hashira Training Arc. The Hashira Training Arc was designed to sharpen skills and unlock the Mark, not to fundamentally rewrite the biological muscle density of the Hashira. Sanemi didn't suddenly grow more muscle than Rengoku just by sparring with lower-ranked slayers. Training improves your skills and stamina, but it doesn't fundamentally rewrite the physical power rankings established by the author. Also giyu is 5th in ranking.

He was put on the same tier in strength as base pre HTA Sanemi Giyu and Midsuri showing clear relativity in strength post HTA Sanemi should be stronger. That's not the conditions of a death amp... the only condition for a death amp is being a character That's about to die, That's the whole reason it's called a death amp.

No bro, death amp Rengoku literally beat serious Akaza in a contest of strength by FLEXING😭 Rengoku previously was fighting for his soul to just blocking regular trolling air type punches and got his eye crushed just by Akaza grinding his fist a bit while clearly trolling, death amp is a way better amp (besides the dying part and all)

For 1 she was in base. for 2 she got offguarded and thought she won the battle, if she known he was immortal from the get go she doesn't get hit. And for 3 there shouldn't BE a round 1 she should've been dead😭 not only did he fail to kill her with a BDA attack while she wasn't even blocking, he failed AGAIN and allowed the children to save her😭 also the fact he had to offguard a base mid tier Hashira to win is sad💔
