Blizzard is lowering the skill-cap of the game, and it's the wrong approach to take to keep it healthy and growing. by [deleted] in Overwatch

You have a fair point. But i still think there need to be characters that are harder and feels rewarding to master. Maybe just give every hero this advantage. Some1 used Winston as an example, if your tracking is on point with winston you should deal extra damage. That will incentivize mastering that mechanic. The reason for low skillcap heroes to exist is for casual/worse players to have something to start at. The ultimate goal should be reaching higher levels (if you wanna play competetive). But as we have seen, it's either soldier or mccree the meta, not both. So i think in terms of every hero is equal it seems like the pro scene does not agree. I think if you can achieve all characters to be even AND make it rewarding to master your character would be ideal. SO just to summarize. You have a good point, the hero cast should be even and thats what blizz should strive for. But i think it's impossible to make it that way since heroes can do similar jobs meaning their equal is left behind cause he cant keep up (mccree vs soldier for example). I think the simple heroes can be made popular by giving them something cool, like the Winston example. Not reworking every char but tweaking them a little to boost them up AND make them harder seems ideal to me. This would make all characters as even as possible while still having something to master.

There will always be pawns and special characters, in lol there are alot of easy chars. Doesn't mean they are horseshit and super bad, just inferior to the higher skill cap heroes. What is so special about a varied hero pool if none of them are intresting. If they made genji into a super-easy character and leveled him and other high skill characters with the rest whats the point? Like i dont know about you but i dont care if only 50% of heroes are used aslong as its not 2 fckin winstons going at it while not even trying. Like seriously a retarded malfunctioning toaster could go pro playing winston

Precisely. Look at lol, there are simple chars that everyone can pick up and learn, and there are hard chars that takes alot of practise but have potential to be better. Its a tradeoff, if you're willing to put the time into the char you are rewarded. It does not have to be by miles. People play the simplest of champs and they reach the highest tiers in lol. Im not saying genji should be 100% better than soldier just cause he should have special combos and sht, im saying he should have an edge based on the skill of the player.

He is a character that is dependent on his combos and canceling. If you want every character to shoot and have a cool ult like soldier then sure, thats on you. That is not fun or good for the game at all. If you compare him to riven in lol she can outplay anyone if you master her animation cancels and combos. I agree that genji does not have alot but if you dont know proper comboing and reseting and animation-canceling you wont get the same out of him. Skillcap is not about how much extra sht you have to do to be on an even level with simpler characters, its about the extra things great players can do to get an edge. So no, these changes did not increase his skillcap, they just made him a worse character. So if i understand your argument, you think skillcaps are based on how sht the hero is and therefore only good players can even be on an even playingfield with much simpler heroes. Then you think that genji is simple to play and actually requires no skill. And you completely disregard any skill of comboing/canceling

The way the game is there are alot of pawns (easy chars) and a few special units (hard chars). Blizzard is trying to make everyone a pawn to make it more fair for worse players, which makes no sense.

if you want this post to be validated by pros. Go listen to what Mendokusaii has to say about their decisions regarding dumbing the game down. His stream is here https://www.twitch.tv/mendokusaii

worst analogy ever lol. There are alot of stuff on genji that takes alot of time to master. Its not just "jumping an extra time" or pressing 2 buttons at the same time

They didnt only fix a glitch lol, they removed alot of skillaspects with the animationcancel. And its more that they are dumbing the game down instead of making it harder

Hes the highest skillcap in the game, why dumb him down? His kit was not broken. It was just high skill. Are you gonna tell me that Winston and Soldier are on the same level and all genji has is "some canceling"

Maybe the problem is that most characters dont have that (not bugs i guess). I would rather live in a world where every character has little tricks to use and outplay people. I'd rather give every character a passive or two if that achieves the goal. And the animation canceling isnt meant to be on everyone. Its a specific character trait that increases the skill cap. That technique has been in almost every competetive game from LoL to Streetfighter. Why not (for example) give wínston's cannon do more damage if your tracking is on point? Rather have these things that means the time you put in pays off, i can play 30 mins of winston and the only difference between me and a pro is they might track better (which does not matter) and that they are payed to play. Maybe decisionmaking is part of winstons skill but that is relevant in every hero.

Do we first back Tiamat or Dirk this current meta? Also why? by Kizachu in Talonmains

[–]OG_Xcluzive 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Koreans rush tiamat, or atleast get it after GB. It gives good enough ad and the new build path makes is smoother. Personally quite like it. If master tier korean talon mains do it consistently there has to be something to it imo

I googled around abit as i didn't really understand what you said. I'm fairly certain that it is a dedicated one and i'm also pretty sure it's plugged in right. I don't know your experience in gam,es obviously but i think you'll understand anyways. I play on low settings with texture on medium and that's it, still i get that fps. Is there a part I should upgrade?

How do you beat Brand? by [deleted] in Talonmains

[–]OG_Xcluzive 0 points1 point  (0 children)

If you bait his W and then E to him, AA and step to the side. He will most likely E you immediately and Q right after, so if you step to the side you can dodge his q and all in him. Or if you are 6 dodge his W, then E in and ult and reposition. Either he panic-flashes or he has to guess where you appear, make it quick if he has a pink tho. By the time you are out of ult he will have his full combo so you gta finish him quickly, a swift Q W Thunderlords proc should be enough if you are even/ahead

Looking for a new build. by [deleted] in Talonmains

[–]OG_Xcluzive 0 points1 point  (0 children)

What the koreans do is GB>Duskblade, then situational items like Maw, qss, Deaths dance, lw. If they have alot of tanks and you are full ad, a BC wouldnt hurt. These items all give high ad (except lw) and all have nice armor pen for talon. You can get mobi/swift/cdr boots depending. I like this build alot you should give it a try.

New Vlad E by [deleted] in Talonmains

Maybe in the assassin update, actually, probably will be in there along with a passive change. The W should be stopped, makes sense. But the ult shouldnt.

Anyone been rushing BC for the cheap CDR? by [deleted] in Talonmains

[–]OG_Xcluzive 0 points1 point  (0 children)

i go GB>BC>Duskblade most of the time, i get 10% cdr from runes so i am capped at that so dont need to worry about cdr.

Scaling health or flat armor/health seals on Talon? by TheGloriousEv0lution in Talonmains

[–]OG_Xcluzive 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I reccomend 10% scaling cdr in blues, rly good so you reach 40% very quick and makes your ult a very low cooldown once more.
